Art Rooney may have the overall image of club patriarch sewn up and I think that's fair... Lamar did it for Crew.. AND, before that, the Chiefs and for Pro Tennis, AND helped put together the modern Bulls

BUILT the modern NFL... dont forget that.
So I think all things considered and how much attention he paid to the Crew, really his 'minor league love', he really outshines Rooney.... because you cannot compare the two in the effect they had on the national sports landscape.
