    News of Tom Petty's passing is more horrible news on an already horrible day. He's been one the few artists that I've continued to listen to for my entire life. It is hard for me to pick just one song from him, but I'll go with this one, from one of the best albums ever made, that I put on a mix tape for my future wife to remind her that I was always thinking about her even when we were apart. Thanks Tom for helping me win her over.

    What a tragic day...that's putting it lightly.

    As the baby of the family I would get the hand me downs on albums and one of the first 'real' records I got from my sister was Damn the Torpedoes. What an amazing record, and happy to say I did see he and the Heartbreakers 15 or so years ago, but now I'm kicking myself for not going to see him at the Hollywood Bowl last weekend (dislike the venue)

    Loved the video when I was a youngster. Back when MTV was actually pretty cool.

    This one's my personal fave as well. So hard to pick just one, though. Actually got to meet him back in the early 80's. Got an offer from his agency to do a one on one interview during a tour stop at Louisville Gardens. Also got to shoot a little of the sound check and the show. Very smart guy, low key, like you'd expect from a guy from Gainesville, FL. Topic was concert ticket gouging and monopolizing by ticketmaster and others. He didn't like it...not one damn bit. Can't stop listening to him in the car this week. Missing him more than many of the others already. But he left us with some timeless, classical rock and roll.

    My favorites have been posted but here’s my earliest recollection of Tom Petty, from around the time I first really started to discover music.

    Time does march on Nev. James Hatfield just a kid, and the late Cliff Burton on bass, Wow.

    Not sure how I feel about the movie (thumbs up, but could see people going other way). However, this song from The Accountant is great;

    We lost a great one today. Antoine Dominio AKA The Fat Man is gone. I've loved his music since I was a kid. Here's a song Sellers and Hymel plays on a regular basis.

    RIP

    RIP Malcolm Young, co-founder AC/DC. He played rhythm guitar and let his brother Angus do his thing;

    Shocking loss today of Dolores O'Riordan, lead singer of the Cranberries. I was always a fan of the more uptempo stuff from them:
