I have 1-0 to the Good Guys -- maybe it's hope more than expectation, but that's being a Fulham fan for ya. Zamora to play his best game of the yeat so far, WHam to sputter on attack w/ Ashton out, and me with a smile on my face before lunchtime tomorrow.

Where the hell are FFC24 and Lyle??? Their polarity is missed by me.

Setanta at 6:30am (and unfortunately for Ms. Nevzter). Do you midwest and east coasters realize what a pain in the ass it is to watch English footie on the west coast??? God bless our west coast contingent.

I see a draw here - and a Demps sighting.

We'll win if Danny plays defense like he did against Arse. I'm hoping for a late goal from Demps instead of the Spammers. COYW

Why hasn't Roy been using any subs. He didn't use one last weekend, where it was clear Blackburn was playing for the win and we were just playing for a draw. Now, this week down to 10 men for the whole second half, Roy still decided not to use a sub. I don't understand. We really could have used some fresh legs out there. That being said, good heart shown by Fulham in the second half. I would like to see a couple changes against West Brom next week. Get some hungry players in there.

Roy's good at pre-game preparation but his in-game management has cost us the last two games. He needs to learn that subs are not just intended for replacing injured players and to give the stars the opportunity to receive an ovation during a game we're winning.

    Ey-yech.

5 bad minutes and a brain fart by Johnson cost us a game htat we outplayed WHam on the whole.

Even worse, with 10 men, our midfield largely outplayed them in the second half.

Ah, firmly ensconsed in a bottom-of-the-table tussle. Familiarity breeds contempt.

Glad I didn't wake up early to watch that. Sounds like I would've been miserable.

No subs again this week despite playing a half with a man down? Odd.

Sounds like we can draw encouragement from the effort and the hope that had we been level we'd have had a shot at the points?

That Hull loss is looking less and less like a disaster though.

and Andy Johnson is looking more and more like Steve Marlet ...

... missed everything from Friday afternoon until Sunday afternoon -- out of town gig and two sleepovers away from my computer. I couldn't wait to check out Saturday's results. Actually, I could have.

Fulham are 15th and within a couple of points of the relegation zone. Anyone REALLY believe that Tottenham and Newcastle will be in the bottom three in May? It looks like yet another season hoping that we'll escape by a point or two [or goal difference]. And Roy?

Roy is starting to remind me of Lefty Drisell, the ex Terrapin basketball coach. Lefty could recruit like nobody's business, but he couldn't game coach for crap. He'd finish with 99% of his season's contributions before the first tipoff of the first game. If Maryland needed some serious game-coaching in a late 2nd half timeout, they wouldn't get it. He just wasn't tactically sound. I think that's what we have in Roy. He's a quality guy who acquires quality people. He develops a style of play that is attractive and matches the skills of his players, and he can't quite grasp that, on some occasions, he needs to go against his initial instincts as to who should play in order to get a result. I think I understand why Blackburn fired him early in the season following getting them into Europe.

I don't know how you DON'T make a substitution when you're down to 10 men at home and two-nil behind. I've been watching football since the days in which NO subs were allowed, and I don't understand how you don't bring somebody on.

Question for those who saw the match. Did Schwarzer have a bad match? Seems like that's the "between the lines" implication from the match reports I read.

Great effort by the squad (save for AJ), poor tactics and another loss. Stop me, oh, stop me if you think that you've heard this one before.

I don't know if Nevland killed Woy's dog over the summer or what, but I'd be furious if I were him to see Hangman playing up front in the dying minutes, instead of, you know, a forward? Maybe FFC's first 11 can be called "The Untouchables?"

Schwarzer can shoulder some blame for the first goal b/c he couldn't hold onto the cross, and with the second, I couldn't tell if he was late off his line or Spam were really lucky to get a piece of the ball and have it on net.

And, aside from the Arsenal match, in my opinion our captain has played like shit for vast stretches of every match.

Calm down people. Fulham dominated the first half and had the heart to come back in the second half. They could have the won the game, but for the 3 minute debacle at the end of the 2nd half.

You're Fulham fans for gosh's sakes... Toughen up!!!

All is back to normal for me in Houston. Hurricane Ike didn't turn me into a Chelsea fan. Other people are still suffering though (no power, business' closed, destruction, etc.).

I don't think that the non-use of subs in the WHam(!) game was as bad as Blackburn. We had our best players out there, and they were playing well, so I'm not sure what else you could ask for. Fresh legs maybe, but even then, I got the feeling that we were mostly just unlucky.

Once is an oversight, twice is poor management but three times is a trend. Roy obvoiusly does not have faith in his bench. Zamora should have been replaced at the end of the match for some fresh legs and I agree with Don regarding not subbing a defender for either a midfielder or a forward. Dempsey and Nevland may both be dusting off the CV after the league matches to date.

I have nothing bad to say about the 10 men who played the second half. They played with heart and out played West Ham for most of the half even being a man down. West Ham did create a few opportunities but I expected that being a man short especially while we were pressing for an equalizer and heavy legs set in late in the second half.

Andy Johnson was reckless in his challanges and in my opinion was lucky not to receive a red on the first card. His form has not been stellar either but I think it is still a bit early to compare him to the Fulham fans unanimous selection for the most expensive flop ever.

I just saw this excerpt from an interview with Tim Sherwood, one of Roy's players at Blackburn. The emphasis is mine.

Kinda/sorta what I was saying regarding Lefty Drisell. Anyhow, enough of that; on to West Brom.
