Early on Demps looked sluggish but I thought he picked it up as the match went on (including obviously the great shot that hit the post just a hair's breadth from going in top corner). For much of the first half, a few of us who were watching thought his invisibility was at least in part due to the fact that we were having so much success moving up the right wing with Paintsil and Davies and the ball just wasn't coming Dempsey's way. Sky rated him a 7, which I thought was fair.

All that being said, I have no objection to giving Clint a rest on Tuesday.

It's interesting that you guys didn't feel that Dempsey played well. I thought he was our MOTM and premierleague.com has a fantasy league I participate in that gives 1-3 bonus points to the best performances on each side: Dempsey got 3 bonus points.

I thought he completely bossed his side of the midfield, making some key tackles, and both passed and shot well (that left footed bullet that hit the bar would've been goal of the week material).

I think that would have been top 10 goals of the year... so close

We dominated. I thought Fulham could have had 5 or 6 goals. I think Corky pointed this out in another thread, but this game was strangely like the ManU game midweek, with us as United and Murphy as Paul Scholes.

Murphy was my man of the match. I thought he was really splendid in all facets of the game.

This performance was very reminiscent of the Boro game. Pure dominance. Just wish we played them all at home.

I was rather relentless on Zamora in the chatroom and had to eat it when he scored. I'm with O'Sully, I think I'll keep him on the hook in hopes he continues to prove me wrong.

Funny game this football. It's really amazing how in the midst of your world being turned on it's head, you can find 2 hrs of absolute joy that let your spirits soar when you think such a thing is impossible. My heartfelt thanks to Roy and the boys for a well-timed, wonderful performance.

It's the greatest game on Earth for "escapism"(Not sure that's a word, but you know what I mean.) Playing is the best, but watching your boys(or girls) is almost as good.

Good to see Zamora start taking some shots and looking to go to goal after he scored. Didnt like that he pushed Johnson away, but that is a personal pet peeve of mine - goalscorers running away or pushing teammates away when they score...

    BTW -

This win seals it for me. I think we can count on another season in the Premiership.

I didnt give him enough credit... Roy has sorted out how to play around the lack of Bullard as a creative attacking CM. They still dont have a like for like replacement, but it looks like they have sorted how to modify the pattern of play - and it seems to be working well if they can keep the tempo up and find a little inspiration. Away from home they lack both... but at this point - it shouldnt matter.

As long as it can happen a couple more times at home, no worries about the away form...

I was convinced we were staying up back in December. This season feels nothing like last season.

Etuhu/Dacourt have allowed Murph to move up and take a more attacking role. Think of him as Bullard with discipline and a brain.

    Hatter the Bullard Hater!

Maybe that should be the lead track of your next album.

i saw from about 35 min til the end. etuhu was fab in my opinion. he constantly put himself into a position to relieve pressure off of whoever had the ball. his constant movement was a thing of beauty and if he can play that way the rest of the year, Europe may beckon.
