    Newcastle

Just watched the game when I got off work, I had seen the goal last night on the review show but decided to watch the whole game for myself, and simply put Fulham totally dominated this game, the commentators treid their best to make it the Shearer show but he was so taken out of the game he really did not get a look in, he is a great striker and as been a great servant for England and I hope he breaks Jackie Milburns record, but the back line of fulham kept him at bay, and the midfield never let Newcastle really get into it. With HH and Mcbride up front Fulham gave them all sorts of trouble HH was very menancing and its only a shame he did not finish the good chance he got in the second half. I have been very critical off CC over the past few weeks especially against Orient but he showed great courage and conviction putting on Steed then Collins John to have three forwards and going for it, and he was rewarded with the 3 pts, we can only hope he shows the same courage next Monday and goes at West Ham, and not go back to defensive mode. When you think this is probably not the best line up yet this was a very encouraging performance, the new guy Elliott made himself available thru the game and made some telling tackles, he looks as though he as been introuduced to be the carrier to release Boa Morte and Steed and papa diop when he returns to more attacking roles, he also appears to be a dead ball man, giving Fulham the right sided dead ball taker to compliment Boa morte. But all in all a thouroughly deserved vistory, but leaving two questions I cannot answer, how can this same team have lost to Orient, and why cannot this team get results away from th Cottage.

    Americans at the Newcastle Match

First off, thanks to AmericanMike and the countless (ok, so I can't count!) others who made the weekend possible as well as wonderful. Having a group of American and Dutch supporters in the Golden Lion bordered on the surreal. It was a great weekend and FFC actually helped out by WINNING the bloody match. FSC showed it almost as soon as I walked in the door, so I was able to tape it. Even the Geordies who made the trip down to London were good lads and took the loss in stride.

Once again, thanks to all, it was great to meet old faces and new ones. Please forgive me, but even under the best of circumstances, I am horrid with names. It was a great time and I hope we can do it in greater numbers soon.
