Yes, the Whites are still in 10th and yes, they should survive...but anyone else getting a little nervous? Dropping 6pts to Hull and Rovers over a matter of days is all too reminiscent of the last two seasons.
How many easy headers has Gera put over the bar this year? 4? 5?

How many times has Gera missed an open goal mouth from closer that 10 feet this season? If I remember accurately [not a safe bet], yesterday was his 5th! That would have put us up 2-0. Of course, we should have got a penalty in the seconds before he missed it.

    "tomorrow IS another day."

Look, our guys have played 2 games a week for how long? They are tired. We had to use two 2nd team players (Gera, Kallio) due to injury. Bolton is going to be tough because nothing will really change, but we after that, I believe, we have 9 games in 9 weeks - the kind of schedule we should be able to excel at.

Maybe its just me, but Dempsey may be more effective at target striker than Zamora right now; from what I could tell, he was actively involved in every scoring chance we had.

In a related story, if anyone has a recommendation about a new cell phone, Terri would love to hear it.
We shouldn't forget that Dempsey was the team's leading scorer last year largely on the strength of his performances playing in exactly that role (paired with Kamara) while McBride was injured. He doesn't hold the ball up as well as Zamora, I don't think, and is more likely than Zamora to try a risky pass than a safe one (which may be why Roy has stuck with Zamora through his scoring woes; you don't concede goals while you're holding the ball), but he also seems to create more dangerous scoring opportunities for his teammates and certainly finishes his own more effectively than Bobby.

Can't remember if it was in the BBC or Soccernet writeups, but Roy actually referred to the squad as "frail" in the runup to Blackburn. The 2 match/wk schedule we've been on probably has more to do with the current run of results than anything. If it continues after our break prior to April, then I'll be concerned. That said, dropping two in a row late is very reminiscent of last year and that's not good.

Good work by Dempsey though. He really seems to be coming into his own.

Two great setups by Dempsey after the goal; I think the first one caught Johnson totally unaware and that's why he didn't get the shot away more quickly. Tough to fault Davies on the second one; he took it first-time with his weaker foot and still got power on it and put it on frame, Robinson was just in the right position. And great strength by Dempsey to stay up and fight forward for his goal rather than going to ground like some players might have.

Oh, and thanks to whomever edited the video for only including the first half. :|

It's tough to lose to Hull and then B'burn, both at home, but I'll hold off worrying until we're back to playing one game a week. If we then keep losing to teams we should beat ... well, then there'll be trouble.
I didn't get to watch the game, but in the second half highlights AJ did look pretty run ragged. Especially after the nice build up play between Demps and Konch that ended with a winded AJ half-lunging for a ball rolling across the face of goal.

Personally, from what the highlights suggest, they actually looked more attacking with Dempsey up top the Zamora. The first half highlights showed a lot of good movement and Demps laid off some really nice passes.

Everyone keep their heads up ... they'll get back into form. COYW!!!

A bit off topic, but I like anyone else would like us to play in Europe. But given what I've seen during this busy stretch of the season, think if you had some europe games mixed in the middle of all this. The guys would be falling over with their tongues hanging out before we got to March.

Something else will have to give be it starting complete scrubs for the Carling Cup or even putting less emphasis on the FA cup (which I would hate to see). One thing is for sure, I don't want anything to threaten our survival in the Premiership.
