This one was definitely substance over style. Ironically, I didn't find it very stressful until the 85th minute. The longer it went, the more convinced I was that Perm were incapable of scoring. Looked like an '08-'09 Zamora highlight package for most of the match.

But we're through to the group stages, secured a nice influx of money for doing so, and rested 1/2 of the starters with no new injuries. Good day.

Glad to see the American supporters are happy with the result. The official message board (which always annoys me) have a lot of people bitching. We're are through damn it! Who gives a crap how we made it there, we're there for the first time ever.

More money...more exposure...more experience for our players. All good things.

Looking forward to the draw tomorrow.

mamma mia that was bad to watch.

and then i'm unable to watch the last 10 mins -- when it got interesting.

Congrats to the boys who saw us through and held off a goal until the 90th. We are through and our starters are rested... not much more you can ask for other than AJ never getting decked in the first leg.

I only followed on the match tracker. No shots until deep in the second half. Seemed Roy was content with a draw or a 1 nil loss. Can't blame him. And as far as I know....no injuries (touch wood).

I am excited to see the draw. Got permission from the Big Boss (i.e. wife) to go to an away Europa match...we will see when the time comes to pull the trigger. Thinking about going to the Villa game this weekend Big Boss is Houston).

    Well done by the Whites!

Villa, by the way, have erased their deficit from the first leg of their Europa League tie and lead Rapid Vienna 2-0 (2-1 aggregate).

and they're playing most of their starters. I was hoping they'd go to extra time and then penalties, but it doesn't look like it.

Not convincing by any means, but effective.

Really can't say it any better than this though...

No way for it to go 120 once Rapid got the away goal.
