That atmosphere was bad because it was kids for £5 day, so there were a lot of youngsters in the ground (this means the dads who usually shout were being good!). More than that, it was bad because the weak performance put in by the team from start to near finish (we were good for 3 minutes of injury time and the fans got behind them and made some noise).

It would be hard to pick any player that put his heart into that game. No-one was up for it and the crowd knows that. Sometimes the team has to lift the fans with effort.

It will be different against the toffymen as they are are 'big' club so the players will want something. Also Boa should be back.

We should play our best team regardless of the opposition. Especially at home we should dictate the play, Wigan must be chuffed to come up against such a poor performance and everyone coming after them will look at three points!

    Next game:

    --------- Niemi ------------

    Voltz Piece Bocca Franc

    Routlege Brown Jensen Boa

    ------ McBride HH ------

This formation is attack minded, but Boa and Brown should do defensive duties. If Christanval is fit I would have him instead of Piece as he is quicker.

Good for you DC ( that sounds like the something you would hear on TopCat )
I on the other hand have picked up some sort of virus and was sick and wasted all sunday, but I should be better in a couple of days. I'm not naming any names but i think I know who the culprit is ( like an episode of 24)

I'm still recovering from a mysterious virus?

You're welcome... result of 27 years experience in on-line search.

Though I miss the challenge of building the boolean argument, myself.

Yeah, Top Cat is a little before my time...I remember from him Yogi's Treasure Hunt, which mostly showed Yogi (he's smarter than the average bear. hey, Boo Boo).

While concenus is that this sucks. Defensive posture at home against a lower half team is not the way to go.

Actually all H-B stuff pretty much sux, IMO...

I always preferred Warner Bros.. even as a little kid.. and, later, Rocky and Bullwinkle.
And, of course, Muppets.. wouldnt miss Sesame Street, if possible to see it, at the age of 30.
But that's just me...{ as if I needed to say that.}.

Should this go into it's own thread? It's not really relating to the gadawful performance against Wigan.

But it's less depressing than saying the same crap over and over...

i COULD lock the thread, but someone might have an original idea on the match.

Finally back home and at a computer that I do not mind spreading my germs to. I think I caught whatever Heather had and have been sick since before I got home.

Great to meet DC Heather and also Von Billy. They are wonderful people.

Also nice to talk to Katie for more than 12 seconds.

That Wigan match just was about one of the worst exhibitions of football I've ever seen. Zat and Liam looked lost, and the rest of the team was not much better. Wigan deserved the three points and I would have felt relieved with one. Of course, the goal took a comedy of errors by several players, before Niemmi was left out to dry. Afterwards, I have never seen such a quiet crowd leaving any sporting venue. There were, of course, mutterings about the formation, but even these seemed to be in hushed whispers on the streets.

At least I got to watch the Everton match from the comfort of a friend's living room!

It was great to meet you too and hope to see you again at the Cottage someday.
