Play to win please!!! Enough of this 4-5-1 stuff. And please Niemi get off the line and attack the ball. Any goalie sitting on his heals will be exposed in this league.

I agree. I think we need to come out and attack. I believe that McBride is the type of striker that needs another striker with him. He is great at winning and flicking on headers, but he needs someone to flick it onto. It also would help to have another target up front to draw a defender if and hopefully when crosses are sent into the box.

Leon is available and no doubt will be starting on Sat. Next question, does Deuce have a knock? Personally, hoping for a Healy sighting up front w/Big Mac.

Okay, this just in. Andreasen had a ONE MATCH suspension and will be available. Smertin will not. Dempsey, Kamara, Johnson, Bouazza, and just about everybody else but Litmanen and Christanval will be available as well.

Finally, the captain is exhorting the fans to come to scenic Blackburn [there's 10,000 holes there, I've heard it said] and "lift the team."

Brian usually enjoys playing against American goalkeepers. I think Friedel is in a very small and very select group of EPL goalkeepers who have had nothing but consistently high quality performances this season [Timmy H is another], but Brad is due for a howler or two.

If I can conjure up the ghost of DUGOUT before kickoff tomorrow, I may troop down to the ONLY SA venue to feature live Sunday matches. Otherwise, I'll be in the chatroom and watching on FSC.

    Maybe a Baird goal?

I do miss ol' Bairdy. Just when he started to find some form, we finally found a replacement.

We've had 4 managers in the last calendar year. I don't think another change is going to do anything.

for the record everyone, i'm being facetious.

but he's still a horrible manager and should be fired even if we stay up.

If that's the formation you're going to play, and potentially expect to be able to win (i.e. score at least one goal), you have to be thinking about quick counterattacks and that means your one man up top has to be Johnson or Kamara instead of McBride. McBride is great at what he does but what he does is slow the play down a lot of the time and we're never going to score a goal in the run of play on the road like that.

    From the BBC:
Anyone know why Stalteri wouldn't be available? If that's the case I'd play Volzy at right back rather than Baird or Hughes.

I just hope the team actually considers playing to win just to begin with, regardless of formation. I didn't really see a lot of that against Man U.

Please tell me Seol will be on the bench instead of being Andreasen's fill-in?

No no no, Andreasen will play and now that that is cleared up I anticipate him scoring a goal and if RH is going to play his 4-5-1 this is what I predict he will throw out there....

    -------------------------Niemi--------------------------

    Volz--Hangeland----------------Hughes--Konchesky

    ------------------------Andreasen----------------------
    Dempsey----Bullard---------------Murphy----Davies

    -------------------------McGod--------------------------

Bench: Keller, Bocanegra, Seoul, Bouazza, Johnson

I can live with the above considering I prolly have no choice and RH is the manager for a reason, but with whos available I would much rather see...

    -------------------------Keller--------------------------

    Volz--Hangeland----------------Hughes--Konchesky

    ------------------------Andreasen----------------------
    Dempsey---------------Bullard----------------Davies

    -----------------------McGod----------------------------
    ----------------------------------Johnson---------------

Bench: Niemi, Bocanegra, Murphy, Healy, Nevland

And somebody should tell RH that it doesn't matter how many defenders we use or where they are David Bentley will find their head with his balls....

    ...that sounds hilarious

you all forgot an important part of woy's address:

“It’s frustrating and very unlucky but we’ve fortunately got other players and I have lots of attacking options. I believe that my attacking options are sufficient for us. "

Oh, yea? THEN FREAKING USE THEM!!!

I like your second lineup bearzfan4life. Putting Eddie up top to run off of McBridge. Also, I must say I would be pleased if we don't see Murhpy in the lineup.

I am already a little tipsy from tonight's shenanigans trying to talk myself into staying up for tomorrow morning's game (getting the drinking out of the way  )

I tried to get in my vote of confidence last night, but the system got too busy or something. I see a big road victory today (1-0). All we have to do is avoid a penalty, because that's the only way that McCarthy can score. RSC is on my fantasy team, so that means he'll be invisable and all his shots will end up in the crowd. Yea, yea , yea.....with the luck we've had this season.....there are no jinx.
