Fulham v Aston Villa

Finally posting here just in time for tomorrow's match. Anyway, as I figured would happen- while I was able to listen to most of the last 25 minutes of the match on my phone with an uninterrupted GJ stream, the internet cut out from about the 80th to 86th minute- so I missed the goal- but the important thing was that we scored one. Piecing things together from the highlights and the majority of GJ's commentary, I think it made all the difference to have Berba back in the lineup- while he didn't score, he created an awful lot of chances and while we were lucky not to concede in the last few minutes, we were also unlucky not to have put up 2 or 3 goals on the scoresheet. Baird's goal was a thing of beauty, great technique in threading the ball through a crowded area and into the back of the net- yes, he was a bit lucky too- but a lovely effort. I'd like to see Dejagh on more than just highlights- in highlights he looked good, but I'm always apprehensive of expecting too much from a guy after one appearance- I'm cautiously optimistic that he's a good addition to our already impressive crop of young midfielders.

Anyway, not sure if I'll be around for the Reading match tomorrow- but while the last two performances haven't been inspiring, they should be OK enough to beat a side like Reading- this is a good time of year for us to be finding our footing, we'll need to be better against top notch sides, but for now it's great if we can scrap and get a few points- there's no reason we shouldn't be able to take points from Reading on the road (AT LEAST one anyway).
