The Return of Louis Saha to Fulham?!?!

According to the Daily Mirror Fulham are considering a shock move to bring Louis Saha back home from Manchester United.

The London club would love to take Saha back to Craven Cottage if Andy Cole, as expected, completes a move to Manchester City this week.

French international Saha has struggled to make an impact at Old Trafford following his ?12.8million move from west London in January 2004.

And Fulham boss Chris Coleman admits he would love to re-sign the striker who joined the Cottagers at the same time as former manager Jean Tigana.

Fulham can no longer pay the high wages they did under Tigana, but following the departure of top earners Lee Clark, Edwin van der Sar and Cole they could still make a loan move for Saha.

Coleman said: "It comes down to money. He is on big wages at United." Saha's move to Old Trafford caused a rumpus at the time and led to bad feeling between him and Coleman, but they have made up since.

RE: The Return of Louis Saha to Fulham?!?!

Fulham signed youngster Chris James to his first professional contract today. A two-year deal. James played with the reserves last season and impressed the coaching staff enough to give him the deal. James plays on the England Youth Team as well. We will have to keep an eye on this guys progression over the next two years.

According to the BBC's website, Fulham has rejected a Newcastle bid for Boa Morte this morning. The article did not mention how much the bid was for, but Boa remains with Fulham......for now.

Hasselbaink is linked to Fulham. With Boa being linked to Boro would they try and send JFH and Money?

It is a possibility. I was thinking about that myself although I just do not see this being any more than a rumour. I would bet heavy money on this not happening. Although...anything is possible.

Boro can keep Jimmy Floyd. He is not nearly the player he was a few years ago. They should send us Stewart Downing instead.

I just do not see him going to Spurs. While not nearly as talented, Spurs have a huge squad with a lot of young players. In all honesty, I expect Spurs to earn a UEFA Cup spot this season. I do not think this will go through.

Spurs are also being linked with Andy Johnson. If Crouch can get Southampton 7 million, surely Andy Johnson must be worth 10-12 million pounds.

Sporting have denied an approach by Fulham for Winger Douala. There might be even more teams interested and not just some low table teams but, teams like Barca,Tottenham etc. They might want 8 mil Euros thats alot of money. Could Coleman really spend that kind of money on a player?

In short...NO! It would be nice, but I highly doubt that would happen. In addition to Douala, Fulham are also being linked with Ukranian International keeper Olexandr Shovkovskyi. With Crossley getting hurt and Drobny not in the shape he needs to be in, the keeper position is one in which we need immediate help. I do not know much about this guy in all honesty though.

The keeper situation has me nervous. Cookie should sign Antti Niemi and be done with it.

I wonder which of the MLS All-stars will be signed by Fulham soon. They are probably relatively cheap???

I think all of those players would have trouble getting a work permit--maybe Joseph with his Greneda International experience, however I don't think Grenada is high enough in the rankings. And Conrad and Cunnigham don't have enough caps in international duty. (75% caps in the past two years?)

    Good point.
I'm not sure but isn't Granada a Commonwealth country? Does that help? I think Joseph would do well. He's tough and strong and has enough athletic talent to overcome any skill gap.
Conrad will get to 75% but by that time a bigger club will have noticed him.

Yes, Greneda is a commonwealth country and I think it does help--not 100% sure though.

Absolutely. He may cost most of what we got for Edwin, but would presumably be happy with slightly lower wages. Another option for the time being might be Niemi on loan for half of, or the whole of the season, with a "first refusal" arrangement to buy him afterwards. That would give Crossley and Drobny some motivation to play for their future once they're both back from injury, and Fulham pick the two they want from the three of them...

    Newcastle Out!

I am now, at least for a short while, a mild Deportivo la Coruna fan! Newcastle going out of Europe earlier this evening could be excellent news for Fulham. One of Boa's reasons for considering Newcastle was said to be that they "...take part regularly in European competitions...". Not this year they don't!

Fulham reject a bid of 4 mil from City for Steed Malbranque. But, City do have alot of money and could still make an improved bid. So if they bid 6 mil Steed will probably go and on City's offcial website they are talking about how they are still interested.

Start up the Steeeeeed chants while you can... looks like City wants someone to feed Andy Cole the ball... For 6 million, I'd say let him go... 4 was a joke... even 5 probably isn't worth the loss of a creative playmaker... He was one of the few on the pitch on Saturday that made me think we'll be OK for this year...
