Who sees Kilmarnock play? Or Hamilton Academicals? Or Raith Bleedin' Rovers? I think they're just cute names made up for the sports pages to see if we're really paying attention!

New question: Have we EVER had a thread contain this many postings [501 as I write this]?

I would guess this is the most number of posts in a thread, but I am not completely certain.

Believe it or not, I saw Raith play Aberdeen in my first pro footy match way back in 1997.

This is the best news I've heard in a while. Just crossing my fingers that its true.

As for Boa, 8mil sounds like about the right number to me but at this point we'd have far to little time to find a replacement and he being such an important player we really cant afford to do without him until January. If they threw in Danny Murphy I'd be up for it.

8 million is definitely a lot for Boa. However, like Spencer, we do not have the time to find any suitable replacements and contrary to what some think, I am not so sold on the fact that Michael Timlin can fill Boa's boots.

As far as left-sided midfielders, I have watched Sheffield United's first two matches and Danny Webber is a great young player. He reminds me of a left-footed Aaron Lennon, but not quite as fast. He actually is probably a cross between Lennon and Wayne Routledge. Watch for this guy over the new few seasons. He is a real talent.

Back to Boa, I think 8 million is a good number, but I doubt the club will sell him right now. Perhaps in January this topic will be revisited, but as of now, I see no chance of this happening.

I know I'll get harassed for this, but I hope it's not Gooch. He's card-prone and I don't think he would be as good as some other options. Unfortunately I can't name any other options 'cause offhand I don't know who I'd like to see come to fill the position. But, I don't think Gooch is the answer.

Oh, and Fulham should keep Boa. Like mentioned by Spencer and Tom above, sure it's a great price for him, but the closing of the transfer window is too close to find a good replacement.

    I agree with you.I don't want Onyewu.he's Zat Knight in disguise.I'd sell Boa for 8mill no ?

Whoa...I don't think Gooch is a finished product and ready to jump into Fuham's first-team just yet, but he's not Zat in disguise. He's faster and from what I've seen a quick-learner. That can't be said for Zat.

    Hmmm, let me think.

We took a chance on Bouba, Boa, John, McBride and they turned out just fine. So that is the point of taking chances.

Thats where you are wrong, NONE of them were proven. Boa was 'good'. Diop was unheard of outside of France '98, locals thought McBride was a waste when he signed...

Gooch had a bad game vs. the Czechs but so did much of the USMNT...he is young and can still learn.

As for my voice, how can you hear it? This is a messageboard you know.

fulhamfottier: This is a civil message board, which makes it different from almost any other message board. We can disagree without getting personal, which you did in your last message.

You are not acting civil, and I ask YOU to grow up. This is not a board where we "dish it out". If that's what you want, please go somewhere else.
