This is from today's London Times:

"Brian McBride could return to the Fulham starting line-up after recovering from a serious knee injury. New signing Paul Stalteri had been sidelined by a dead leg, so may now come back into contention, while Jari Litmanen was short of match fitness, but played for Finland during the international break.

Hameur Bouazza has been granted special leave to deal with a family matter after his mother was taken ill.

Fulham (from): Niemi, Baird, Hughes, Andreasen, Hangeland, Konchesky, Bullard, Davies, Murphy, Dempsey, Nevland, McBride, Keller, Volz, Bocanegra, Kamara, Litmanen, Stalteri."

David Healy has been left off and he is none too happy about it. He has an editorial/guest commentary in the Belfast Telegraph about his upset with the current situation (i.e playing time under Hodgson). Look for him to be loaned out. I would provide a link, but I am not as internet literate as HatterDon.

Can someone please explain what a "dead leg" is. It sounds awfully bad for a soccer player.

I've only heard the term used in soccer and not in the U.S. that much. I believe it is what we more commonly hear as a "deep muscle bruise" or charley horse. Don't know any medical implications.

I thought that the only dead legs were the ones with LG on their chests in the first half of the season this year. Thankfully it looks like that's turning around. None to early I might add.

This is my prediction...I don't Know if Stalteri has worked with the back line enough but then again has Volz? So I'll go with...

    -------------------Niemi----------------------

    Stalteri--Hughes--Hangeland--Konchesky

    -----------------Andreasen------------------
    Dempsey----Bullard----Kamara----Davies

    ------------------Nevland--------------------

Subs: Keller, Volz, Bocanegra, Johnson, McBride

I have no idea, this is a damn shot in the dark, it's like predicting Liverpools lineup...but isn't that a good thing???

If Alves plays, should be and good match between him and Hangeland.

I hope we can pull it off tomorrow

I am guessing we will take away an emotional 2-1 victory. I was hoping that EJ might get to come into the game and spark something but it looks like he will be watching the entire game.

Strange Lineup, tough loss. At least Reading lost as well.

Watched the Reading game - they were hard done by to not get at least a point out of it.

You may have already found out about this, but PK wasn't CB, Baird was [and evidently had a good match]. Hughes got sick on Friday. I'm guessing that Dempsey was shattered after two 10-hour flights across the Atlantic and having a goal disallowed against Mexico. Kamara appeared in bits, but got hammered pretty good at about minute 40, and that probably contributed to his being subbed off at the half. Murphy had a better match than he's had in a while, but we never really looked like scoring. Unlike the Villa match, their going up a goal seemd to have no impact on us tactically or in terms of heightened resolve.

Stop having to go to work on match days, dude. Without you we only had about 112 folks in the chatroom!

Typical Fulham, having an opportunity to help themselves and they let it slide by. Credit to Boro they had one clear-cut chance and turned it into the only goal of the game. We had a few chances and didn't convert, that is what killed us.

We still looked toothless upfront and most of our chances came from the midfield. Nevland, in my opinion, can't play up front on his own and I'm really hoping Brian and Eddie along with Nevland all start putting the ball in the net for us.

It was very dissapointing to lose 1-0 especially after the debacle at home against them. We should've had atleast a point. Oh well...COYWs
