Or, playing devil's advocate, O'Neill was willing to sell Barry for a fair price but was so pissed off by Rafa's tampering that he wasn't selling him to Liverpool come hell or high water.

In big-big-big money news, it's being reported that Milan have agreed to sell Kaka to Real Madrid for 65 million Euros (~$93M, or ~56M pounds). Wow, that is a lot of pudding. Two observations: A) Not everybody is hamstrung by the general financial situation, and B) Madrid are not reacting well to Barcelona running away with the league this season.

it's also being reported that Kaka is not interested in City, Chelsea, or Real, and wants to stay with Milan.

Hard to believe anything other than the Gareth Barry news at this point.

Ahhh, the silly season begins with a bang today. Barry wanted to play in the Champions League, remember? I wouldn't remember either if somebody was going to drop almost $200K a week for my services.

AC and Kaka both are denying what some Spanish radio station are saying about Kaka to Real. Until someone shows me otherwise, I'm believing Kaka and AC.

Braveheart would look good in a Fulham shirt -- I'm not as critical of Zamora as some, but I think this is a great idea.

It's the mirror, so take that for what it's worth, but Sunderland is in for Nikola Zigic from Valencia. Buyer's market, that one. It's interesting because he stands 6' 8" tall --

He looks like he should be playing basketball. Sue me, I like height -- Woy, since I know you listen to my suggestions, can I make one?

I would love Tuncay, always enjoyed watching him, and he always seemed to be dangerous going forward, he would be a welcome addition, what kind of fee would he command?

" ... and of course Harry the Horse dances the waltz ... ." [Over to you Nev]

You're a brave man, Lyle, to post a rumor based on a tribal football link here in American Mike's neighborhood.

new subject: When is FFC going to publish a list of those players being released and those being extended? We had half a squad out on loan and I'm not sure of the status of any of them.

Well the Ruud connection with Fulham has been made in the Telegraph.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/footba ... adrid.html

I'm taking this news with a massive grain of salt as the Telegraph isn't the most credible of news sources. Still... it would be a fantastic signing. He's still got it.

Enh... the Telegraph is just as credible as the Guardian, the Times, or the Independent.

    Ruud Van Nisterooy?

As long as we're dreaming, can't we sign Messi?

There's word that Giles Barnes is back in line for a possible move. Man, I hope this is the truth. Lots of upside with this kid.

I liked what I read about Barnes in the reserve match reports.

    yep. in his own words:

According to the England U19 player, Fulham boss Roy Hodgson sat Barnes down and told him he was what's needed at Fulham, and - just as good - the Whites' squad are also backing his return to SW6

Barnes said: "I spoke to Danny Murphy and he said he and the rest of the Fulham lads would be disappointed if it didn't come off.

"If you hear that from him, you know it's no empty praise.
