I went with Portugal. I dislike Portugal almost as much as I dislike Argentina and Mexico, but the 2008 FIFA Footballer of the Year has a decent supporting cast.

    Thanks FFCinPCB, I'm in.

I must respect the French...they're going to get hot and win it.

I'm already getting crap for being "bandwagonesque"- but I decided to throw my support behind Germany awhile ago. Yeah, yeah...maybe it is because out of all the countries I've visited in Europe, only Italy and Germany made it to the Cup and I enjoyed my visit to Germany more than Italia...so what?

And for fear of being pelted by bratwurst, I do like Michael Ballack ::ducking::

    Sorry guys!
    Terri

PS For fear of incurring the wrath of my best friend, I will wear my Polska shirt on Sunday. My Eurocup fanship can be easily won with a pint of cider :)...

I found it hard to pick between Portugal and Germany. I will support Portugal as I always do in these big tournaments (since Iceland have never been on one  ), and I really believe they can win, but Germany are always good, so...its a tough choice ;)

Not sure why but I think France wins. My rooting interests are Holland and Spain.

I think Germany has the talent and mix of young players and vets to win it. Itlay is getting too old. I think the Portuguese will end up choking, especially C. Ronaldo on his own arrogance. So I'm pulling for Deutschland to win but would like to see the Swedes surprise everyone. I have heavy ancestry from both nations so naturally......

Can't play the ESPN thing, Christian. I'm staying off SOCCERNET until they get rid of all the crap on there. Uses up too much of my mochine.

As for my heritage, the Cajuns didn't qualify again, so I guess I got nobody to cheer for. Usually I go for England first and whichever of the four other "home countries" next. Since none of them go, I'll just settle for rooting for Polska and against Italy.

I'm in and my willingness to embarrass myself with a plethora of piss-poor predictions knows no bounds!! I'm gunning for a top-10 finish in our group (of course it helps that there are only 10 signed up so far).

You know what I just realized that disappoints me a bit? Nobody from Fulham is on a Euro roster. And VDS is the only former Fulham player there. I'm having a hard time coming up with someone whose jersey I want to buy.

It would be nice if Austria could somehow get through to the group stage...a long shot, but it would be cool! sorry Tommy boy, that would obviously have to be at the expense of Polska...but why I'm on this banter, why not the Poles and Austrians?

I think it's easy to like the flair and dance-ability of Spain and Portugal...but I see the Germans taking the title....Miroslav.

The Swiss have to feel hard done by. They created far more chances and had two handballs in the box ignored by the ref.

Portugal looked really good and Turkey looked better than the Czechs, so I'm sticking with my original pick of Portugal/Turkey as 1/2 in Group A.

Porstugal looked very good. The score seemed like it should have been 5-0.
