McClaren getting sacked today? Surprised he was even allowed in the tunnel after the game 'sorry sir, you're not on the list to get backstage'.

Watched Sky Sports yesterday and they showed a compilation of their campaign. Had totally forgot that Robinson's freak whiff was against Croatia in the first game (did that play into McClaren's thinking?). He's had an off year, but in those conditions you still have to give him the #1 jersey. Let Carson start when the English crank up their WC qualifying vs Faroe Islands or whatever crap team will be in their group.

Credit to the English fans being interviewed after the game, they all said that Croatia deserved to win the game.

"Pedestrian effort" sums it up, krhimself, for the team.

For the manager, I think "out of his depth" may be appropriate.

Bye-bye, Stevie. Where to next? Who would want that albatross? But perhaps has more to prove than ever.

Why does "Ragin' Red Bulls" spring to mind?!

I have to question Red Bull's understanding of how you build a team, since they fired the only manager to ever make the team a serious threat... perhaps they think that it's only name recognition that matters.

Although, Arena arguably had more success with his national team then McClaren has managed. Stevie just could not seem to get them winning consistently at all, nor did England manage any kind of previously unexpected victories.

Shorey (Reading LB) should have gotten the start over Bridge. He defends better and while he is not the attacking threat of Bridge, he knows how to cross the ball (something neither Cole or Bridge know how to do).

I found it humorous that only Crouch and Becks are getting good marks for the game. "What, an MLS player was one of the two players who showed up for England?"
