That video is awesome -- I love the instant of silence when he takes the shot and the crowd is thinking "PLEASE MAKE IT!!" And the chants of USA! USA! -- good stuff.

    Anyone seen the OG?

Hey, at least you can laugh at this one -- an own goal isn't a killer when you're up 4-0.

I saw the og on SSN. It was like Swansea's og against us in the cup. There were about 15 bodies around there and the ball was in the net. I didn't even SEE Eddie, never mind see him put it in.

So they decided to blame the OG on Forrest.

Thanks for the link to the goal LaxAttack, great video and the fans are awesome. Good for Eddie. Keep it up!

After scoring a goal in his 45 minutes as a sub in match #2 Downunda, Eddie played 45 minutes again today. He notched two assists, setting up Nevland twice and making Erik's 7-minute hattrick possible.

I have to think that Woy has a wole for Eddie this season.

Here's an excerpt from an Aussie newspaper writeup of the match:

Edward Johnson is a teammate of Clinton Dempsey, don't ya know!

Looks like Perth are going to hang on to that underachiever tag for another year. What a tonking.

Good on Eddie. Nice to see his loan may be paying dividends. We could certainly use the depth by keeping him in London this year, even if it's only for the first half.

Saw the goals on Sky Sports News tonight.

Andy's was pure poacher. He took a good shot that the keeper deflected, and then jumped on the rebound.

Nevland's were pure Erik the Viking. On the first, Eddie squared on the ball, drew a defender to him, and then slid the ball over to Erik. On the third, Eddie hit a slide rule through ball to him in Erik's stride. Nice stuff.

Andranik's reminded me of the goals we saw from Simon Davies two seasons ago.

Eddie seems to be rounding into form. Hope he'll stick.

I'm one of those "half-full" guys who always tries to look at the bright side of things.

The accident involving Charlie Davies, and the ensuing death and injuries was a horrible tragedy. I feel especially bad for Charlie who I really loved watching play.

It does, however, give EJ hope of a chance to play in South Africa. That extra motivation should be good for EJ, and ultimately good for Fulham.

Exactly what I was thinking Andy. To me Charlie was something that EJ never was, but I still think EJ has to be better than he was four years ago. I want to see him getting called up between now and next JUne. I just dont see Davies making it back in time for the WC.

He has done fuck all in 2 years and people want him to be called up?! He wouldn't even had played for us this year if Zamora and AJ hadn't been injured. I'd rather have FIndley or Cunningham get a call up, at least they've done something in the past year. EJ needs to put a few in the back of the net to get a call up or at least should need to do so.

But 24, EJ is playing in England. He did do something in MLS. EJ has dangerous speed and I think he has learned something and worked hard during his time in Enlgand. It is worth a call for some friendlies.

He didn't do anything with Cardiff either and was on the bench alot. So even when he stepped down a division he did nothing. Obviously he has gotten worse in the last 4 years or that couple of years he was worth a shit was a fluke....

Which brings me to the point that he only had 2 good years with the rest of his time not really all that good. So 2 years in about 8 years of playing isn't exactly being consistent. The 2 years really had the feel of fluke too. He just went on fire out of nowhere and got lucky to be called up* and continued his form all the way to England when he fell back down to earth in a hurry.

*Remember that it was between him and Eskandarian to be called up. Eskandarian could've easily been called up and EJ might've fell even before 2007. There was also a section of fans who really wanted Buddle to get a chance.

Okay then 24 who would you like to see called in to fill the whole? I think we need at least one forward fastest enough to worry a side's backline. People say Josy is speedy but I dont see that speed manifest itself during the flow of play the way it does with Davies or EJ.

    24. No one is saying EJ is ready now or that he should just "get the call up", but it gives him hope and might inspire him. If he plays with even half the motivation that Jozy showed last night, he has a good chance of EARNING a call up.

Throw Donovan up top if you're that worried about speed. Really we're lacking in forwards with speed. The only one worth a shit is Cunningham and nobody wants to give him a shot. Just because we have a weakspot doesn't mean you call up somebody who has scored only a few goals in 2 years for his club teams.

There are reports out of England that Eddie wants to go out on loan to improve his chances of making the 2010 WC squad. These reports came out WELL BEFORE Davies's injury.

I agree that he's the only guy we've got with the pace a knowhow to step up and make a difference in South Africa. I also agree that he's not ready to take that position now. The difference in the arguments about him seems to me that some are saying that he might help based upon what he can do in the next few months, and one is saying that based on what he's not done in the past guarantees that he's not good enough.

Bradley will give a few guys a shot to fill the shoes/role of CD. We are much more dangerous when LD plays behind the strikers and provides service.

EJ wants a chance? well he is going to get one next month in Denmark, when you know he'll be called up for the friendly. When a strikers' confidence goes the goal looks like like the size of a Lacrosse net. The West Ham chance (no matter the good work that led to it) was an opportunity for him to excorsize demons, and he FAILED miserably. At this level it is about production not looking good on the training ground or reserve matches. So walk the walk in Copenhagen EJ...
