Competition update

Hello Fulham USA!

Just to remind you of my little pre-season competition. I have been asking for thoughts on:
1. The number of points we end up with.
2. League position.
3. Goal difference.
4. Goals scored.
5. Goals conceded.
6. Result of the final match of the season.

I have had a meaty 90 responses in now, all bar two from the TFI board.

Averages work out that at season end we will end up as follows:
- 52 points. Highest = 63 (Jonathan Baines). Lowest = 38 (Biff).
- 11th position. Highest = 6 (Pelican Pete, Jonathan Baines). Lowest = 18 (Biff, Fruitbat).
- Minus 1 goal difference.
- 52 goals scored. Most = 65 (Ken V). Least = 29 (Polecat).
- 53 goals conceded. Most = 68 (Malcco). Least = 41 (Jari's Mullett)

And 1-1 is the most common scoreline (27% response) for the final match.

So what sort of season do you think we will have?

To help pass the time between now and the start of the season proper, and to have a bit of harmless fun as the season unfolds, I thought I would invite you all to participate in a little competition.

WHAT IS IT?
Guess where we will be at the end of the 2006/2007 season. And I don't mean in a drunken heap in the Golden Lion, although I suspect some may be

THE WINNER
The person who most accurately guesses how many points we will end up with at the end of the season.

In the (very likely) event of a tie, league position will be used to determine the winner.

In the (likely) event there is still a tie, final goal difference will be used to determine the winner.

If there is still a tie at this stage, number of goals scored will be used to determine the winner.

If things are still tied, number of goals conceded will be used to determine the winner.

The final decider (if needed) will be the person who correctly predicts the score from our final match of the season.

HOW DO I ENTER?
Easy. Just share your thoughts on the end of the 2006/2007 season with regard to the following:
1. The number of points we end up with.
2. League position.
3. Goal difference.
4. Goals scored.
5. Goals conceded.
6. Result of the final match of the season.

So, by way of an example, the winning 100% accurate entry for last season would have been this:
48, 12th, -10, 48, 58, 1-0.

THE SPOILS
To the winner - a crate of their favourite beer along with board-wide recognition of their god-like sporting prowess and visionary powers

RULES AND REGS
1. Closing date for entries - midnight, Saturday 19 August 2006.
2. Changes to entries already submitted can be made up to the closing date. This takes in to account any change of opinion in the light of new signings etc.
3. One entry per person.
4. By all means respond on this board, but as I am often away all entries must also be mailed to me at ffcburt@aim.com
5. Because I am not awash with dosh, one winner only! If there is still a tie at the end, then I will think up a suitable tie breaker.
