I need verification on that one. If he did say it, it only reinforces the reason you do not see more Democrats up in arms over Kerry not being President. He wasn't our first choice either (of course Bush wasn't our second, third, or twentieth.)

    It's a freakin VIDEO!!!

No one dubbed it, it would glitch! It's all over the big RW blogs and no one there {the big ones} can afford to NOT vet it.

Here's the point... from YOUR view: If he'd been elected, Dems wouldnt have a prayer on regaining control of Congress.. so you better count yourself lucky.
If you dont believe me, look at his Senate record for 20 years.

Why do you think it was merely a murmur about Ohio in 2004, when the similarity to Florida in 2000 was undeniable?

Dumb question, but are the democrats socialist and the republicans captialists? Not that it makes much difference, either way they will mostly be a bunch of dim witted, self serving crooks preaching moral abstinance while banging anything that moves.

Have Kerry hired his speech writer from Prince Phillip?

Well aimed DIVERSIONS you mean... I love his "How Dare you..."

How dare he testify his 'Winter Soldier" yarns before congress, then go to Paris to negotiate with the NV.

    He didnt plan it at all... he thought he was with 'his kind' and 'his kind' look down on simple grunts*. {To say nothing of the victim..err....'middle-class', but that's YOUR problem not mine}

*The same dumbasses that are setting records for re-enlistment during wartime.. and volunteering to go back for third tours!

The same dumbasses that go berserk when they get to the states and hear the news that they thought was trying to 'show both sides' when they came around in-country

And this also means this air-head will NEVER be President. Bet Hillary is dancing in her old bobby-sox!

C'mon Petty, there are a dozen books out talking about the president's verbal fluffs. He makes them all the time. Kerry deserves one or two. He's no mental giant either.

But don't think that a community college in CA is the home for "the educational elite." And don't drag up all that GOP disinformation crap on Kerry that was such BS in 2006. The man served in combat and came home wounded and decorated as a result. Every time you sit in an easy chair and criticize a Vietnam Vet you embarass yourself and the president who spent his war NOT training in Alabama. He has a trip scheduled to Vietnam in 2007 I heard the other day. Better late than never, I guess. Hope he has a spare "mission accomplished" banner.

I've been a 'victim'..I dont give people passes because they are victims.

I served. I dont give people passes automatically for service.

Regardless of the Anti-Kerry Swift Boating, the TRUTH is that he lied about Winter Soldier... especially recounting horrors seen and told to him by some jerk who had never been out of the states.
TRUTH is that he went to Paris to talk to North Vietnam, while the war was still on.. which a decade earlier would have got him time behind bars..

The TRUTH is that he couldnt seem to remember whether he was really in Cambodia and when... and if he had been he wouldnt have forgotten or confused it.

The TRUTH is that he painted all the Iraqi soldiers with night-terror raids, that he compared them to "Gengis Khan" tactics...that he is a joke in politics and a disgrace to the uniform he wore.

    P E R I O D !!!
The ONLY one who is worse is Murtha... and I will reconsider that if you can tell me the 'Strategic Withdrawal' advantages and why that senile old bastard mentioned Okinawa int he same sentence... DONT DEFEND YOUR ASSHOLES when they screw up, I wont defend mine.

    On Dubya..
Dont gimme that mission crap! you were in the military and you KNOW the definition... you read up on the F 102, I KNOW you did.. .and you know damn well why no Reserve F-102 jock could go to vietnam, by the time he was fully certed.

I live near Wright Pat, and I knew several separated fighter jocks in mid to early 70's who tried like hell to get reserve flying slots for flight pay and jollies.. this was a different time. And they couldnt.
Dubya knew it... he slacked off after the 102 squadrons started standing down, sure, and that was dumb but the thing is, no one gave a shit.
... because by then there were 2 or 3 guys waiting for every slot.

I was a 'kiddie-cruiser' in the navy, joined at 17 and got out at 21 in end of '63... still had to serve 2 years attending Reserve meetings, I attended three meetings. The station E4 was a little blackshoe piss-ant that had never been away from a training station and, really a pisser, I had 6 months more active duty than he did, but he was 'sea-going' rating and I was an 'air-dale'.. funny all the Officers were airdales.. or not, considering Wright-Patt.

After the 2nd meeting, and more grief, I had enough and went to the Exec and asked him what I could do to get out, he laughed and said he understood..third meeting I went to the clerk, filled out a paper accepting Active Status manpower pool and never wore the blues again. Then I tried to get into the Ohio ANG in mid 70's because I sorta missed it... they laughed at me.

Like I said.. that was 1964 and no one gave a shit then!

You can BS the young'uns ol' son... but you cant bs me.

Well democrats are left and republicans are right but we don't really have socialists here. Not ones who freely admit it anyway. If they did they'd never win. I mean democrats are for more social programs but I don't think they could truley be described as socialists. Were all captialists!

Back on track...ALL Kerry had to do - the first time around- was admit it was a bad attempt at a joke. Somehow, doing that on the THIRD attempt doesnt quite cut it.

He'd have still taken heat but he wouldnt embarrass the USA ... he WAS a presidential candidate, after all.

On the world stage George W is seen as a fool and a puppet of his senior adivsors. People like Don Rumsfold are percieved as being the power. Since Kerry never made it - I don't know enough aboout him.

What has GWB done at home? Is he a good homeland leader? How did he manage a second term? Was the Kerry oposition so weak that GWB was the only alternative?

Is Kerry already a 'hasbeen'? If not will these comments be enough to make him an embarresment to his party? Does any of this really matter since the presidential elections are so far away? Is it just a phoney war?

OK, so it's a lot of questions, but US politics is very different to UK. When I read Kerry's comment orginally I thought it was in bad taste, but a flippant throw away comment, made as a snide dig at the current administration. I still do not see why it is so bad.

It isn't so bad; it's a poorly executed joke, sort of like the president a few years ago being filmed looking under the furniture in his office saying "not here; not here; I would have sworn there were WMDs."

The fact is that there is no substantial reason for the majority of voters to vote FOR the Republicans at any time, especially after the last six years. So the Republicans have to rile people up and get them to vote AGAINST the Democrats. So we have this, we have "DON'T YOU REALIZE THAT THE SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE WILL BE A ... A ... A ... WOMAN!" "DON'T YOU REALIZE HOW MANY KEY COMMITTEES WILL BE LED BY UM .. UM ... UM ... BLACK PEOPLE!"

I bet that even in the ugliest Parliamentary elections in England, the PM never traveled the country telling the electorate that voting for the opposition would be tantamount to giving the country to the enemy. That's what our president is doing now and will be doing every day until the election. "Yes," he's saying, "we've screwed up, we've lied to you, we've made our buddies rich while starving the troops, but THEY LOVE TERRORISTS, AND QUEERS, AND PEOPLE WHO GO TO THE WRONG CHURCHES."

    It'll probably work too.

The riposte for this posting will be Petty saying what people on college campuses or web sites say about the president and his cabinet, like that's justification.

The main reason that many in the US dont take the rest of the world seriously..

Not kidding. It's hard to watch him speak, true... he's inarticulate, true. But only those living in some other world think that Rove and Rumsfeld are telling him what to do... sometimes I think it might be better, but that's the way it is.

No one who engages him one on one goes away saying he's a fool... unless they say it for political reasons.

Of course, the same say Blair is Dubya's poodle.... ridiculous, he obviously isnt Cherie's lap dog, why would he be Dubya's!

And Jacques Chirac is a great leader, of course! This makes a point... how can two general political views see the same thing about Chirac and differ so much on Dubya and Blair?

Simple... preservation of world views, views in which France doesnt matter, either way.

BuSh is a cowboy. And that is appealing to many homophobic (but closet homosexual), narrow and simple minded males. There, I said it.

You must be a Lib, then... since queers are very important to you in the political forum.
What would Liberal commentary be, after all, if you couldnt throw Oreo's, use blackface 'Massa' caricatures, and wonder about who's queer and who isnt.

Gee sorta like the high School playground isnt it!

    There >>>I <<< said it.

Uh oh... petty's running out of arguments... he's picking on the French again.

My favorite little ditty of the day was when McCain was all indignant about Kerry and talking about all of the soldiers he's gone to see at Walter Reed and how they've lost limbs... and then was out campaining on behalf of the GOP later in the evening... against a Dem Iraq war veteran who lost both her legs in combat!

    Had enough?

No... let's talk about the poor unfortunate guy in Missouri, who - in an anti Republican ad- complained about VA treatement for his shattered ankle, yet never was at a VA hospital for it. Then when reporters looked for him disappeared, found to be moved on to LA to get a real start in politics.

And let's talk about Islam, Jihad and MN politics...'give 'em a voice!

Ah, never mind Landshark...I try to lighten it up and you go for the throat... say, isnt that bunch Michelle Malkin has on her video Blog version of "The View" a collection of 'hot chicks' ... if only they had their mouths otherwise occupied, right?

Just trying to put the discussion on the Liberal Talking Point level

    Heh.. :3d devil:

    Speaking of Liberal Comprehension:
    After THAT mind-blower, then:
According to accounts, KO gave no indication that he actually heard what Milbank said.

Yes, Keith...ROVE made him do it!
