Damn, T73...you've got us covered for the Holiday season. Obviously, you've checked the list twice...maybe three times. My fave has got to be The Bloody F***ing Pogues - "Fairy Tale of NY". I'm gonna have to check out the Pansy Division song. I'm sure it's a classic....but I'll have to say that I've had enough of this joyful noise. There's no need to start playing Christmas songs the day after Halloween.

Perhaps you just know the song, but the fact that you know of FEAR blows my mind. If I had a time machine I would go back to LA in the early 80s just to see them. Their performance on "Decline of Western Civilization part 1" is for the ages.

And what about "Last Christmas" by WHAM!

    hmmmmmm??

There's nothing like having a beer with FEAR. Man, that LA scene rocked back in the day. You can't beat that SoCal punk scene. Or can you?

Yes- FEAR is awesomeness. Speaking of SoCal Punk (and others)- Have you seen the documentary "American Hardcore?" Pretty rad :)!

Pansy Division was an openly-gay hardcore band. Love 'em!

There was a venue in Atlanta called the Metroplex which showcased the best punk/ hardcore bands in the 80s. Sadly, my parents would never let me go as they knew about it :(. Having hip parents was both a blessing and a detriment!

    Terri,

If you tell me you were at the Lords of the New Church playing at the Metroplex trouble will ensue.

@ Terri - Damn fun for 16 year olds, who thought they were being super cool and breaking the rules.

What part of Atlanta did you grow up in?

    Emory/Decatur area for me.

The only Christmas song I've been listening to lately is "We're All Going To Die" by Malcom Middleton. 9-1 odds to hit #1 in the UK.
