Charlie Davies

I certainly hope he does make it back and does well in the WC but I'm also a bit apprehensive about his progress. I've seen my friend recover from a broken femur, only to rush back onto (in his case) the basketball court and encounter further setbacks. I'm just really hoping things really are going as well as they seem.

 

Good for him - what a great story this is shaping up to be.

 

I think Charlies Davies is Wolverine. No one is supposed to heal like that.

Still cant rule out Charlie. He expects to be back training with Sochaux by the end of the month and playing in games by the end of April.

The real question is how much if any pace he's lost. The less the better and the more chance he's got of helping us in SA.

 

The fact we are even wondering about this is amazing. Honestly didn't think the kid would be back to training until Fall (if at all) at the earliest.

Lovin' his story...simply, Hollywood-esque at this point. If he's even remotely able to play, he goes to S.A. no ifs, ands or buts.

 

I periodically check France 24 as a source of news. I found this interview with Charlie. I still havent gotten new speakers for my computer so I havent listened to it. Maybe one of you guys can pass on the salient points. One thing that I really didnt like in the text was the comment that his gait isnt back to normal. I find that worrisome - in tems or his chances for returning this season.

I dont see him making the WC squad at this point. Hope I am so wrong. I also hope the US team and the fans in SA pay some sort of tribute to him if he's not on the squad. Myself, I bought 2010 USA jerseys for both my boys with Davies' name on the back. They'll be wearing them next month in Philly.
