I just did a Google search and everything is from 2-3 days ago. I heard a report that the police are planning to do an investigation that will take approximately 1-2 weeks and I guess they are holding information until that time.

Sorry for editorializing.. it's about Charlie, after all. In fact I did a lousy job of formatting my own post. Gonna go back and edit it so important shit comes first.

Sochaux handed Ligue1 leaders Lyon their first defeat in any competition this season in what has to be a shock result. Sochaux dedicated the match to Charlie Davies.

Hard to speak ill of these Frenchmen, even for Pettyfog.

I just found out the day before the accident that I work with Charlie Davies Uncle. A guy at work was talking about how his uncle was planning on going to South Africa next summer. Wierd how things like that happen.

Tells you how big an impression the young man made in just a little bit of time.

Totally agree Hatter. Sochaux and Gillot have had the same reaction as us in the states. Shock and concern and then tribute to Charlie - couldnt be more different than AC bedpan's reaction. Hats off to Sochaux for the victory.

I get what you are saying now petty. Thanks for caring to clarify.

He seems like a good person, but I would like to know a few more details about the whole thing. Answers to questions like: why was he out, what were they up to, who were the people he was with, how the surguries have gone, when he will be walking again and what the outlook is for him returning to any kind of fitness.

I know many are a fan of blog and Twitter, but I find it all to be little more than self-gratifying drivel. I am hoping there is a news agency out there that will pick up on this and follow it all the way thru.

He's in his early 20's so I can answer the first few questions for you.

He was out to have a bit of fun.

He was with 2 women so I'm not sure what that was about. I know that if I'm with one woman going home, I'm going to be doing the naked stuff JMH talked about. I'm guessing the 2 women were his friends.

Really these kinds of questions don't matter. The shit that really matters is if there was alcohol involved. The questions you asked seem to be pretty easily answerable.

Easy if you are happy to make general assumptions based on your own creative (You seem to prefer logical) thought.

These questions may not matter to you, but I am interested in learning a little more about this young man.

That - AND I prefer fact as opposed to the know-it-all assumptions of internet pontificators.

First of all I was joking about the answers I gave. I obviously don't know why he was out and who he was with.

HOWEVER, there's really no reason to need to snoop around somebodies private life.I really could care less why he was out. There's no reason for anybody to care. Like I said the only question should be "were you guys drinking". That's it. You don't think you're getting a little too personal by asking the questions you asked? Would you like it if somebody asked you these kinds of questions?

I was making a broader point. That is that the kinds of questions you asked are unnecessary and intrusive and that society as a whole has this kind of problem. This creates bullshit like Papperazi who dangerously follow people around snooping for anything and everything on a "star". America needs to get away from this "build people up to tear them down" attitude. It's really hurtful to the people having their privacy invaded and it really has no place in society.

Can never lose sight of the tradegy of a young person losing their life in this situation.

One question that does need to be answered however, is why he was out 4 hours after curfew?

Another example that these professional footballers are regular folks that are susceptible to the same emotional hiccups and gaps in judgement as the rest of us.
