yes, thanks 'dogg. i like this guy as a sparkplug off the bench right now, and inevitably, he will transfer to a bigger club due to his current form. As far as I'm concerned he has a place in the USMNT and let's see where he ends up next year.

Possible American invasion of France but not the WWII kind.

Charlie Davies agent stated that a Ligue 1 side have been in serious negotiations for his services.

I sure hope that kid doesn't go to a sinking ship, wouldn't staying put on a stable club in Sweden better than going to France and be stuck playing in Ligue 2 (or whatever they call it) next season?

Wow, everything old is new again:

Sweden to France -- even with a bottom club -- is a healthy jump for a young striker, especially with South Africa looming.

    Report: Davies headed to Sochaux

    Report: Davies headed to Sochaux

The quest to sign U.S. national team striker Charlie Davies has apparently come to an end and Sochaux is claiming victory.

French newspaper L'Equipe is reporting that Davies is being sold to Sochaux in a transfer from Swedish club Hammarby. Sochaux was one of three French clubs among the final teams in the chase for Davies. If true, the deal will make Davies the second American in Ligue 1, joining U.S. captain Carlos Bocanegra (Rennes).

What do you think of Davies making the move to the French first division? Like the move for Davies, or were you hoping he would move to a bigger league? Still hoping he winds up at Rennes with Bocanegra?

I think it's fantastic if he plays. I think without a doubt as it stands now he's part of the First XI for the Nats

Hmm don't know if France is the best place for him, but good news nonetheless.

Be interesting to see how he responds to the slow, defensive minded Ligue Uh.

That's the lowest scoring of the major leagues in Europe, isn't it?
