Who goes up? Who goes down? Will Derby win any games this year? Stay tuned.

My choices for promotion -- Birmingham City, Ipswich, and our friends from QPR. I though Crystal Palace would go up until they got raked over the coals in the transfer market.

Going down are Doncaster and Blackpool as the relatively easy ones, and the last one is tough, but I'll say Southampton's money troubles will get the better of them.

I'm looking for Derby, Reading, and QPR to go up [although I'll be pulling for Preston, Coventry, and Wednesday]. Not sure about down, though. I'll say Swansea, Doncaster, and Plymouth.

I almost want QPR to get promoted so we can have a local archrival who doesn't think they're too good to reciprocate the rivalry.

How did you becoma a Palace fan? I know why Tom is, and I think of them like the ugliest girl in the bar, the one with a unibrow, a muumuu, bad breath, flatulence, and one leg shorter than the other.

Wow, nice one LAX - that joke hasn't even gotten close to being tired for me!

My Palace loyalties stem from attending my first every English match at Selhurst Park - the fans were fantastic and the atmosphere great. The dive bars around the park weren't bad either, well, they were bad, but that is what made them good.

I like this preview because Fulham isn't in it. Time for some unnecessary predictions!

    Who's Going to CASH IN!
    Birmingham City
    Sheffield United
Ipswich Town (We need another team who can't win on the road! That'd be 3 for Fulham!)

(Yeah, Watford, Reading and Wolves all blow it. QPR can go be the Hearts of English soccer.)

    Who's Joining Leeds United!
    Barnsley
    Blackpool
    Doncaster Rovers

Let's see how my picks are doing:

    UP: Birmingham City - 2nd place - 41 pts.
    UP: Sheffield United - 5th place - 32 pts.
    UP: Ipswitch Town - 10th - 28 pts.

    DOWN: Barnsley - 17th - 24 pts.
    DOWN: Blackpool - 18th - 24 pts.
    DOWN: Doncaster - 24th - 15 pts.

Well, Birmingham is looking good and Sheff Utds are in playoff contention. Ipswitch is off, but they are barely out of the 6th spot like half of the league is. For the relegation candidates, Doncaster is eating it which makes me look good. Barnsley and Blackpool can climb back up but they are sitting so low now for a reason. So far so good.

I never would have thought Watford would start out so poorly, though!
