    lol

This sort of thing used to erk me more, now I just kind of say whatever people can cheer for whoever the hell they want. No skin off my nose, I'm USA through and through and thats all that matters in the end and besides its 6-1!!!!!!

Sorry Tom but anytime you bring up Polish football for the foreseeable future were obligated to give you serious crap. I know I will!, at 6-1 theres no avoiding it.

This is a good pickup after last night. I said a few days a go that it was still just Poland and we can do them, I didn't know it'd be 6-1!

Wasn't able to watch the match today, but when I returned to the office I was told the scoreline and my jaw hit the floor. I honestly thought they were just winding me up.

After the shear jubilation of the US victory my thoughts drifted the depression that Tom must be in. Unfortunate for you and the Poles. Chin up though...they can still progress.

There's a replay of it at 8pm MST (i.e. in 90 minutes) on Fox Soccer if anybody else has that. I know I'll be setting this one to never delete on the old tivo.

I was told there wasn't going to be a replay...fantastic news. I might have to skip a game of pickup for that.

    Thank you much Tibor

The US played a great game. All credit goes to them. Poland came out and started well. They scored the early goal and it went downhill from there. Once the US scored their first goal, Poland's confidence went away. They looked timid and out of sorts on both ends of the field.

The key goal though for the US was the third of the half which came in first half stoppage time. It was a back breaker.

Anyways, I hope the US can play like this against Brazil and I hope Poland reverts back to their form against Brazil when they play South Korea. I would like to see both teams advance.

I watched the game delayed (DVR) due to dinner, etc. The first 10-15 minutes, Poland hung with the US, but after that it was pretty complete domination, despite how bad the US back four was (though the sub, Sarkodie, that came in did well). I'm honestly amazed this Polish team was able to beat Brazil.

The Polish goal was the result of bad play by the CB.

As for the US goals - the USMNT needs to take lessons on finishing from their U-20s! 18 shots, 6 goals and the rest split between saves and close misses. They never missed an empty net shot.

    FIFA.COM has a pretty good report, including a Play-by-Play. USA: 18 shots, 6 goals, 7 misses, 5 saves.

    BRAZIL 3:2 SOUTH KOREA

    OK...I'm confused...

I am going to test my luck and look for the goals or match recap on youtube. If anyone happens to come across some video of the match please post it. Thanks in advance.

Particularly the first one. I would assume that will be shown on ESPN's Sportscenter tonight or even ESPNews.

fifa.com has a link to some video highlights right on their home page. I could only get it to work in Windows using IE however.

    tibor. Good catch!

Go to highlights from the game. It's about 2 minute video that shows all 7 goals and Poland's best chance for a 2nd.

about damn time! Not sure if I'll be there for the opening kickoff, but I'll be in front of the TV and in the chatroom for the majority of it!

My boys from Japan are through to the group stages, pretty stoked about that. We absolutely humiliated the Scots in the opening match, then won a grinder against Costa Rica. If we can avoid a loss against Nigeria, we'll top the whole group!

    Ivica Osim, take notice.
