It seems that Beasley might be heading to Man City, according to clubcall.

I could see him playing with Reyna. Prehaps Reyna could reign-a Dempsey in. Ha!

I hope this Beasley deal goes through, he needs a new start and playing for a team like Man City would be great.

On the bigsoccer messageboard someone is saying that the deal is off. (they saw it on a mancity messageboard from a poster who claims inside info--so take it for what it's worth)

I think Man City wants a transfer whereas PSV just wants to loan Beasley.

    From the BBC:

MANCHESTER CITY: Boss Stuart Pearce has secured a season-long loan deal for PSV Eindhoven's USA international winger DaMarcus Beasley (2201). That will come as a boost after veteran striker Andrew Cole followed David James in taking the Eastlands exit route to Portsmouth, while Antoine Sibierski has joined Newcastle.

Surprising move! I can't say that I think it will go well but I certainly hope it does. I wish Bease all the best.

If Beasley playes like he did in year one for PSV it should go well, but if he get into injury trouble and a couple of DUI's like he did last year then back to MLS. Im going to think positive for DMB and hope he impresses and secure a permanent move to City.

Well, I wonder if they drug test for steroids or HGH....

Whatever, now he's gonna have to improve himself, somehow.

    We'll see...

I just think he needs to gain his confidence back. Look at how he played in the World Cup, DeMarcus wouldn't go at anyone always playing the ball back to his defence. IMO it not his skill or size that is the question it his attitude and confidence.

I agree ... Fog's snide comment aside. DMB has all the physical skills except for size. He needs the committment, and I think that Psycho believes that his motivation alongside Claudio's example might do it.

I'm really hoping he does well; I like a pacey left-winger who can tackle back and plays tougher than his build. For reference, he's probably the same size as George Best.

Let's see what happens, and wish a fellow Yank well.

Oh... I HOPE he proves me wrong!

But he wont, unless he develops the ability to leap tall buildings in a single bound.

..or bulks up so as not to be knocked off the ball.

    Your pick

Speaking of Reyna I see him comming to play for the Red Bulls in January. He really has lost a step and is too slow to play in the Premiership.

I don't really see Beasley being knocked off the ball as the problem. Its his confidence and his willingness to take guys one on one and fly down the wing. I don't see how Bease will suddenly recover the confidence and form he showed with PSV in year one. If he does there’s no doubt he'll be successful. Unfortunately I predict the same kind of gutless and ineffective back passes we saw at the world cup and if that’s the case he wont get more than a handful of appearances.

City really has no other option at the left side of midfield. So far this season they used Reyna and Vassell.
