- This was applauded by Democratic Michigan Reps, John Conyers and John Dingell who have recently complained about lack of preparedness in bringing out the roughly 7,000 Detroit area residents, of total 25,000 Americans, who 'just happened' to be visiting southern Lebanon at the time of the outbreak of hostilities.

I'm sure you with join with me in wishing for a successful outcome in arranging a cease fire (and conditional negotiations as to how much land Israel must give back, this time) which will, no doubt, have Kerry - who served in Viet Nam, by the way- landing his helo on a Med-based troop carrier, 45 strapped to his side and hands clasped overhead in a victory signal beneath a "Mission Accomplished" banner.

In related news, rumor has it that Rep Jack Murtha - who has inspired us all by demonstrating that the Peter Principle works in the Marine Corps and Congress, as well as in corporate America and NOT just for John Kerry- has started on a plan for redeployment of the Israel Defense Forces to New Zealand or Western Australia.

All the above coming to fruition, can there be any doubt that Arabs and Israelis, Muslims, Jews, and Maronite Christians will soon be gathered around the Council tables singing Kumbaya and/or their favorite footy anthems.

Yes, it's time to try the Democrat/Carter/Albright 'Better Idea" again... this time it might work.
