On the other hand... why queue for 45 minutes to an hour and a half for a 30 second procedure?
In a hacking, coughing 'you dont know where they been' crowd of humanity?

It's brilliant, smart and efficient as hell.

Please note this was a test on how to best inoculate the population in case of a 'pandemic' where such is critical... my view is that it should be done routinely for those in the risk segment.. or it might make it economical to do this for everyone.

Yep... that's why folks are flocking from the US to Canada and the UK for specialized treatment... what? Oh, never mind.

    ;)

I know you dont read about it, Gary... but NO ONE in the US is refused, if the poor cant afford preventive inoculations they can get it.

Same goes for serious illness and injury.

I wonder, BTW, if suddenly the US refused to subsidize pharmaceutical research for the rest of the world's 'low-cost NHS drugs', how long would it take for all the European Drug companies to shut up shop and head back home?

I HELP PAY FOR YOUR CHEAP MEDS!!!!!!

Huh? More to such things than you might think, eh?

    :)

Keep 'em coming... I love it!

I don't really want to get into the 'What the US of A did for you...' discussion. It becomse xenophobic, and that can only lead to the French! :)

A UK citizen may visit the US for treament, equally France or Germany, but this is specialised treatment for which they pay. The upside of the national health is that things like hip replacements are carried out for free by those that need it. The downside it that some drugs and illnesses are made economically unviable by mass healthcare. As for paying for my cheap meds.... The UK pays market prices for the drugs it uses. The governemnt susidise the drugs so that regardless fo drug or cost it is passed to the consumer for £6, so a drug that cost the NHS £20000 a course will only cost me £6.

Many of the large pharmasuitical companies have bases here and the UK pioneers many treatments, funded by the NHS or the major seats of learning in this country (also funded by UK tax payers). I have no issue with contributing to this. It benifits me, my family and often my country in the paterns and jobs it creates.

The point I was making is that when I pay for service I expect service. If I do not pay then I do not feel I can demmand anything. For example if I go to McDonalds and the food is crap I have paid 5 pounds and the burger is cold then it is par for the course, what can you expect for a fiver. If I got to the OXO tower and pay £100 per head then I feel I can bitch about it and demand a service.
