We're a couple of days into the tourney, so this is a little late going up. I see that Joe Kamara has FINALLY scored a goal -- for Senegal. The good news is that El-Haji Diouf was in the side with him and so won't be diving for dollars at the Reebok on Tuesday.

Wish we could see some of this tournement on FSC. There's usually a lot of excitement there.

This was brought up on Fox Football Fone-in last night and one of the commentators mentioned that the organizers wanted "silly money" for the broadcasting rights.

yes. I also watched the highlights of the Egypt vs. Cameroon match...a 4-2 goal marathon. Who does that Zidan guy for Egypt play for? Let's get him!

You can see some of the tournament. You just have to look in the right places, and set aside your fear of download gremlins, or perhaps do a balancing estimate of whether you want to risk the initial downloads.

I will say this, Nigeria v. Cote de Voire was really damn good.

Ivory Coast looks very strong to this point.
    Ghana are playing at home.
One of those two will win. (Egypt will be tough as well, but fall short).

Manucho looks good. Sir Alex and the Rich get Richer...

Quarterfinals coming up with some very interesting match-ups. I think Ghana takes Nigeria.

And if anyone else has watched, interesting how it sounds like a full blown party is going on in the stands, no matter the match, don't you think?

Pick a favorite team to support for the tournament, and explain why.

I'll take Angola. (Did a country study for a whole semester on it in college.)

Okay; I don't have a team I'm supporting, although I'm kind of partial to Cameroon, but I DO have a ground. Tamale Stadium! God! Sounds perfect for a boy from South Texas!

Senegal are out, so Kamara should be back soon.

so, from 1 striker in the game day squad on Tuesday [Healy], Royo now has Healy, Johnson, Nevland, and Kamara to choose from.

I've watched a fair amount, not terribly enthralled yet. Organization has been (unsurprisingly) shambolic, makes you wonder about South Africa 2010.

    Nigeria/Ghana - nice matchup.
Ivory Coast should take out Guinea.
Egypt/Angola - Egypt has too much skill I think, but Manucho has looked strong.
Tunisia/Cameroon - Eto'o catching fire (not literally, of course...)

I.C. & Egypt maybe in the Semis - this should be the final, but someone goes home here.

?Ghana & Cameroon - home team not looking as strong in the early rounds, but should have the advantage as the tourney rolls on.

This is a nice tournament - like to see it on real TV next time.

Alas, Don - doesn't look like any more games in Tamale (yum) stadium.

    The semis are indeed:

Ghana v. Cameroon in Accra (Hello home field vs. Eto'o)
-like the home team here, I guess

Ivory Coast v. Egypt in Baba Yara Stadium (angry Drogba vs. potent Pharaohs)
-think i'll take an angry Drogba here, but this is a final-quality match and could go either way

Don - no Tamale for you.
Though the Cameroon/Tunisia game was indeed in Tamale.
Another note - Man Utd. signing Manucho scored Angola's lone goal vs. Egypt. Just what Man Utd needs.....sheesh.
