So far we have to be pretty happy with 4 wins, 3 losses, and 1 draw. We are in eighth place, but this year it is different. Instead of a big 4 way ahead of the rest and even teams just below them out of reasonable reach, we are only one point behind three teams (Spurs, the Spam and WBA--the latter two of which are certainly not better than us) and only two points and a goal out of the (dare I say it) last Champions League spot. The lack of dominating teams other than the top 3 makes this maybe the most interesting year for us in the Premier League other than the Europa League season.

That adds to the importance to the next four games:

Oct 27 10:00 ET Reading v Fulham Madejski Stadium
Nov 3 11:00 ET Fulham v Everton Craven Cottage
Nov 10 10:00 ET Arsenal v Fulham Emirates Stadium
Nov 18 11:00 ET Fulham v Sunder. Craven Cottage

All of them are winnable--either at home or against teams below us in the table. The first is on the road, which has been the death to Fulham, but to a team that is winless (although they gave the Pol a run for their money on the road last weekend). The second is against a team that we have played pretty well at the Cottage over the years. The third is against a team, at home, that we might be catching at the right time, and the fourth is at home against a mediocre team.

Obviously, we won't win all four (that has to be as unlikely as the Yankees getting swept int he playoffs--oops). But, if we go 2-1-1, I would think that is not bad. Three wins and a loss would be incredible.

This is the stretch that will tell us if this will be another good season or maybe a great one.

Great points Dave. If the boys can stay healthy (a BIG if) this could be a special season. I wasn't too optimistic after the last day of the deadline, but there is a lot of quality on the side. Berbatov is hopefully the player that lifts the team on the road. We all know CC is tough on any opponent to come and get a result, win a few away matches and look out.
