Short with dark hair. Bedoya fits the description as well as Torres so you could be right LAX. You know how reliable eyewitness testimony can be. :)

Klinsmann has been suspended for the Gold Cup final.

    Bring on "Shooter" Vasquez.

with all the cheap shot fouls on display Wednesday, it's laughable that the only cards given were to EJ and Klinsmann.

Actually, klinsmann was never shown a card. It doesn't matter a whole lot whether he is on the sideline or not. I remember the 2005 gold cup tournament where the same thing happened to Bruce, basically he ended up up in a sky box and I believe he relayed instructions to the team from there. He even predicted Gooch's header on one of the us soccer cameras that was filming behind the scenes footage for the 2006 run-up to World Cup.

I have that DVD US soccer made somewhere in a box, if anybody wants it send me PM and I'll try and find it for you.

Gotta love CONCACAF. Sheesh. It's a wonder we ever win anything with that kind of officiating.

I respect and enjoy it when a manager sticks up for his or her players that they believe have been wronged - whether by another player or an official's call. I remember watching it and didn't think it was all that bad given my experience with manager meltdowns (including some of my own). I'd like to thank CONCACAF for adding one more hurdle for this squad to overcome to win this tournament - this may light a serious fire under the squad's ass for the next year (or so I'm hoping).

no surprises in our opening lineup -- and nice little [vapid] interviews with EJ and Bedoya.

I'm heading over to the chatroom. Hope to see some folk there.

If anyone gets something firm and official about Stuart Holden's knee injury, can you please post it here?

Had to watch the match on dvr given prior obligations. Hope Holden's knee is nothing but a contusion - his reaction on the bench after the substitution was not encouraging though. Far more nervy match than I anticipated, but the US held out. Congrats to this squad, they did a fine job in the tournament. Pet peeve: I taped the match, saw the US won, and then was informed by Gus Johnson that I'd have to switch to Fox Soccer to watch the trophy presentation - $%&#!!!!! I didn't tape Fox Soccer, but added extra recording time to Fox just in case of shootouts, etc. I'm sure that most folks watching the match didn't give a flying @#$% about a rerun of "Rocky Balboa." Jeez....

Grant Wahl said it was a sprained knee during halftime, and they the same thing on Fox Soccer News. Not sure, but I thought they said he would get an MRI today. Btw, Nev, it was not the knee that hit the Panama player with that was injured--it was the knee he planted just before getting hit. The knee that he injured that just left him out of the game for more than a year.

Like Nevzter, I thought it was far more nervy than I originally anticipated. But it's another Gold Cup trophy in the case. Do they have enough room for those things?

Dont know if that is a typo but he hurt his right knee last night. The surgery he had from the J. Evans tackle was on his left knee. See below. I had to look up the picture because I read so many conflicting accounts about which knee he hurt.

Still no contact injuries always make me fear ACL tear. Don, Stu said he will provide updates on twitter once he knows something.

Yeah, I think the announcers said it was the right knee that had the surgery and this ESPN article said it was the right knee as well.

    http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/15091 ... us?cc=5901

But SI.com is saying it was the left knee. If I am not mistaken, but hasn't he had surgery on both knees? If so, I doubt he has much of a playing future.

I was watching live and DID switch over to Fox Soccer -- which was broadcasting the second half of a Man United friendly in Asia. Fox Soccer Plus was showing an IRL match. Gus Johnson told porkies.

Since I'm too chintzy to pony up extra cash for Fox Soccer, I switched over to Univision, which is part of my basic HD cable pkg. You could tell they were less than thrilled about an American victory. It wasn't anything like the Rose Bowl a few years ago. Then they went to regular programming as soon as they could after DaMarcus lifted the goldware..no prancing around the pitch to the delight of the assembled masses.

    Still, very sweet indeed!
