Since boca signed with Chivas maybe he'll be considered for the gold cup spots available due to injury

I'm sure he won't be called up in order so he can get settled in, BUT for those that think he doesn't want to be on Nats anymore consider that he has agreed to go to a dumpster fire in Chivas USA which so happens to play 20 minutes from where Klinsmann lives.

I kinda doubt he'll be called in at all. I 'm sure he has no team training since he was trying to secure a move, and wouldn't be ready for the national team, now Chivas on the otherhand. Although perhaps I shouldn't laugh since DC has become what it is. :angry-banghead:

Ives is saying that Gatt's knee injury is significant enough that he won't play in the Gold Cup.

And Corey Ashe, who was listed as day-to-day yesterday, is fully participating in training today.

Martinique beats Canada 1-0.... :angry-banghead: Really Canada????

Panama beats Mexico 2-1.... I don't care if it's the B or C squad, how does Chepo still have this gig?

That sucks about Gatt. I was looking forward to seeing him play. Reports are that Shea will replace him, although I thought Shea was already on the roster.

Just when you think Canadian men's soccer has hit rock bottom, they find a way to sink even lower. Congrats to Martinique though, and what a magnificent strike by . . . ummmm I dont know his name.

Wow, what a couple of upsets to start things off. Here's hoping it doesn't continue with the US. I have a couple of tickets to the quarterfinal matches in Baltimore, which should host the US if they finish 1st or 2nd in their group.

Edit: Although it would be just my luck if my husband's prediction came true, in that we will see a quarterfinal match between Belize and Panama.

Unless it's the season of the witch, Donovan won't let that happen...enjoy the quarters!

Shea was on the 35-man provisional roster, but not the 23-man final roster meaning he could only play if an injury came up or if Klinsmann used one of the four roster swaps after the group stage. I think the plan was to let him go back to Stoke for preseason, but now he is on the 23-man final roster due to Gatt's injury.

How much longer does Chepo have? I can't believe he's not on the chopping block yet. If you're gonna make a change, now is the time, before we get too far down the road to Brazil. Then again, I don't read or speak Spanish, so that press may well be all over him today. They've been horrible. Then again, maybe we should wish for them to give him some more leeway, to our benefit.

I'm going to check us out tomorrow night -- assuming I can stay awake that long. Perhaps I'll catch someone in the chat room?

With a 11pm start time, I am doubting I can make it through the whole match. May have to snooze a bit before the match and try to wake myself up to watch. I may or may not be in the chat on time, but I always try to watch the US no matter what. :happy-cheerleadersmileyguy: :flags-usa:

The US has now scored 6+ goals in back-to-back games for only the third time in USMNT history.

Hard to gauge since Belize isn't exactly Brazil, but glad to see Wondo go off despite having his name misspelled. Lots of positives besides the obvious in Landon.

Yeah, very tough to gauge how well the US is doing when they have faced these past 2 opponents. At least the US has scored twelve goals in the past two games. :banana-linedance:

Wondo averages 3.0 goals per half when his named is spelled incorrectly.
