God, I hope you're wrong. I don't want to wait until January to scrape that cluster of Dutch barnacles off our ship.

Winner? I believe Heather mentioned something about a check...

Great list/summary by Timmy, and I think it's a 3 horse race between Jol, Houghton, and Holloway. Will stick w/the strategy of going with the guy who is a little cuckoo for cocoa puffs and that's Holloway. He's a perfect manager for the Championship, but not the Prem.

Not sure about that list unless Timmy is saying there is little chance Fulham sack Jol before the end of the season.

Granted Cardiff's ownership are a wild card, but they've taken 4 pts from City, Spurs and Everton at home. If they keep treating their home ground like a fortress, once the more winnable fixtures come around, they should take enough points to stay out of the relegation zone. As long as they're safe, Mackay should be safe.

Norwich look a lot like us. They have 3 new strikers and are having a heck of a time linking to them from the midfield. Hughton could wind up getting the sack, but Norwich don't seem like a firing club.

I don't see Big Sam going anywhere. He seems like a perfect fit at Spam. They have an excellent keeper, play good defense, and if Nolan can get to double figures in chicken dances, they should be safe.

Agree with Holloway and Pardew although Pardew does have quite a bit of talent to work with. It wouldn't surprise me if he were to get it turned around. Newcastle don't tend to be patient though and Pardew likely burned up all his goodwill last season.

As would Fulham if only Mr. Ambition had stayed.

Why is it that more than 12 months have passed since Demps, Demb and Murphy left, yet a hole remains in mine, and Fulham's, heart? Wrong thread...

Holloway is the next to get the sack. Palace! Palace! Palace!

ESPN FC is saying Poyet is the favorite for the Sunderland gig and that Zola eliminated himself from contention, preferring to see out his contract at Watford (which expires at the end of the season).

Stuck in 19th and coming off a 1-4 home thrashing on National TV all but doomed Holloway, and he is gone from Palace. His teams are entertaining, and he marches to the beat of his own drummer. Would expect he turn in the Championship at some point in the near future.

Well, wont say I told you so, but, I sure called this one last month

And with the clouds surrounding Cardiff (are they still? I remember there being a hubbub about an assistant being fired for some 21 y/o Uzbek or something) surely Mackay is next...?

If they sign DiMatteo, I'm going to be sick.

Yesterday was fine and all, but I still want Jol out and I still want DiMatteo to take over.

Firing Mackay would be a mistake on par with Wolves sacking McCarthy a few years ago. Perfect fit for the talent they have on hand.

As for Holloway, I get he's a bit of a flake, but there's not a manager on earth they're going to bring in that will keep them up. They are just too far below the quality level you need to survive in this league. I don't get these teams that come up, don't spend much on upgrading the talent AND let other teams poach their best talent, then can the manager. If you're going to play it that way, take your relegation (and parachute payments) and keep the guy that has proven he can bring you back up. After a few yo-yo years you may have the money to upgrade the talent enough to stick. That said, since this is Holloway we're talking about it, the reason for his sacking could run deeper than results.

Wouldn't worry about DiMatteo, Don. He'd have to be an idiot to take the Palace gig.

Mr. Khan said when he took over that he was a huge Premier League fan. If he doesn't fire Jol the only conclusion one can come up with is that he is either an idiot or a liar. This is YOUR CLUB Mr. Khan, do us all a favor and act like you give a crap and show that you have actually been paying attention!!!!

AVB next? Wouldn't be a huge surprise given today's shellacking by 'pool at home coupled with the embarrassment at Citeh. Who'd of thunk it?

On the surface, his sacking comes as a surprise. But looking a little deeper, they'd only taken 32 pts from their last 35 matches. Some of the comments sound similar to the situation we were in. This is one of their higher wage bills in their time in the Prem and their fans feel as though this is (or should be) the most talent they've had as well. They'd been good defensively and tough to beat but the defense had loosened up when they tried to play a more attacking style. With Lukaku and his 17 goals in 20 matches, it worked. Since he left, they've struggled to score and haven't been able to tighten up the defense sufficiently when they've needed to. Perhaps that's a cautionary tale about loans.

Their record and goal differential would suggest they aren't that far from being a team that should stay up, but I haven't watched the Baggies enough to say whether I think Clarke could have changed that. Bob Bradley interviewed with WBA before if I remember correctly. Maybe he gets a shot here? Would love to see them go for former WBA man Jol. His teams are easy to scheme for and beat. :)

AVB has got to be next, thought the over/under after seeing the scoreline was an hour after that match finished.

A little surprised about Clarke, but with millions at stake, getting a manager in who can assess before the window opens isn't lacking thought.

They changed the team way too much over the summer. Btw, can we have Dembele back?

True, Spurs did change but AVB has shown little interest in playing Baldini's boys. Seriously, how the hell does Townsend start on that team?!?

I quote statsbomb.com with the best summation I've read yet:

That pretty much sums it up. I expect the lazy 'Arry rumors to start in short order. Realistically, I bet they make a move for Laudrup. With Swansea struggling with depth due to the addition of Europa matches, could be the right time to pry him away. Plus he's experienced working with a technical director like they have at Spurs.
