Brilliant goal. I wonder if JK saw it.

Oh, and "Real Sociopath" is brilliant, Ms. Maureen  :banana-guitar:

This week's Premier League World features a segment with Brad Guzan. It's the same collection of sports cliches, but it's nice seeing the lad playing every week. There was even a mention of Eric Licjaj. Hmmm, I wonder if Klinsmann watches PLW. It might surprise him to learn that there are actually TWO Americans at Villa.

-Gooch went the full 90 for Malaga in their Copa del Rey encounter. They advanced despite losing the second leg 1-0. Every round they advanced means more playing time.

Far closer to home, and just across the border Tijuana's Cinderella season continues into the Mexican Primera Final. They came back from being down 2 goals in the first leg with Leon, to win the second 3-0. Edgar Castillo, Joe Corona started for the toughest nickname to spell in sports..Xoloitzcuintles .

I'd love to hear the cheerleaders doing the old, "Give me an X" thing.

 They probably quit half way through. Two of the 3 Americans (Corona and Castillo) started in the X's 2-1 first leg win of the Apertura Final against Toluca down in TJ. Point of interest, the nickname is referring to an Aztec dog.

US U-20er Bobby Wood has fought back from a bad knee injury to finally start for 1860 Munich and score a hell of a goal today -> http://www.socceroverthere.com/?p=10887

Fellow U-20er Sebastian Lletget made West Ham's gameday bench for their game against Manchester United this past Wednesday.

Thanks Lax, wasn't sure if Lletget was a figment of my imagination.

Congrats to Castillo and Corona for starting and winning the Mexican Primera title for Tijuana. Unthinkable a few years ago that TJ would ever play in the top division, and for them to actually avoid relegation immediately, and then winning the title is amazing. What a source of pride for the city just south of San Diego.

:text-+1: And would it be too much to ask to play him with another forward instead of 3 defensive mids trying to supply him.

Gooch played the entire cup match and got a last minute equalizer for Malaga on the road. Certainly a good sign. He's 30, so he really needs to get his shit together and feature with a club on a regular basis. Standard Liege was a long time ago.

Here a link to video of Jozy's goal. He kept it simple with cuts against the defenders' momentum and finished nicely. Wonder if he will be making a move in Janurary. I hope not, but I can think of quite a few clubs that could use him.

Michael Parkhurst has joined Bundesliga side FC Augsburg. A definite step us in leagues but they are in a relegation battle. Good luck to him. Personally, I hope he shows better than Timmy Chandler so we dont have to deal with that dude anymore. Parkhurst could see us through 2014, if we get there.

Beat me to it Mo. Pretty happy until looking up the Bundesliga table and seeing Ausburg is tied for rock bottom with only 1 win in 17 league matches, a -17 GD, and 10 pts from safety. In other words, kind of like parachuting to the Titanic mid-voyage. Isn't his best position as a CB rather than one of the outside fullback spots? He doesn't possess anywhere near the pace Chandler does. Granted, Timothy has to prove his commitment to a whole bunch of people.
