wow! I really think it's time to drop Deuce back to midfield and run Jozy and Gomez up front for USMNT. Perhaps if Jozy took a German class or two ... .

and, in other news, Big Brad was man of the match for Villa Saturday, and Old Brad didn't do half bad against Reading.

Yea, Jozy. It's weird to me how some guys suck with their club, but kill it for the national team, and vice versa. Would be great if our guys could translate club success to the USMNT. Then there are guys like Shea for us, Bendtner, the Ukraine guy (I forget his name) at the Euros, etc.

Good to see Goose locking down the Villa job.

Here's the Torres free kick goal. Very nice.

p.s. - on the si.com soccer page, there is a pic of Jozy appearring to be "Octo-striker" or "Arachno-striker." Quality stuff. I tried to post, but the pic was larger than the board allows. check it out...

Hoffenheim teammates Fabian Johnson and Danny Williams both scored in their win over Dolo's Hannover. So does this belong in the YA, or a new thread called Yanks Playing in their Homeland?

I imagine we'd have to ask a Spurs supporter to get a good answer.

That said, it had been 23 (interesting #, given the gw goal scorer) years since Spurs last managed that feat. Plus it gives them 3 straight wins in the Prem. I think it has to be a huge confidence boost, but also gets everyone behind AVB. Unless they lose one they shouldn't in the near future, that is.

From the limited highlights this year Jozy's first touch looks so much better. FInally he figured out that drawing fouls is fine in all, but being bigger/stronger than the defenders, and making them bounce off of you on the way to the goal is better. We say this upon Lax's weekly post of Jozy scoring and that is if Der Kaiser doesn't want to monumentally fail he better figure out that Jozy should be paired w/Hercules or start in front of him.

Am I the only one that is going to have a hard time commenting on Deuce in the YA thread? Want him to do well, but didn't like Spurs before and even with him & Moose there that's not going to change.

Re Jozy, I agree. Der Kommissar needs to figure out a way to get Jozy on the pitch for some minutes - even if as a sub at 60min. Or, pair him with Gomez and see what happens in a 4-4-2 or 4-1-3-2. Regardless, that was a great goal and assist. Top shelf.
