Hopefully Tony and the staff have been looking for scoring help, and ready to make a move earlier rather then the end of January and that’s because of the schedule:

Next 6 thru the end of Jan (excluding FA Cup w/QPR); Spurs, Burnley (obviously no help for those 2), but then Scum & ManUre on the 15th & 20th, and 2 HUGE 6 pointers w/Brighton & Brom to finish Jan. We wait till the last 48 hours and our fate could be sealed. We have to get some goals early in the window.

If ever there was a time to strike a deal early in the window this is it.

Proven scorers are expensive, and not likely to be made available on loan unless they're going through a dry spell, and we don't want that. It'll be tough to get something better than what we have. I hope we do, but we should be prepared for the eventuality no one joins. If we do get an addition, I don't think it's likely he comes from a Big 5-league team. For example, I'm intrigued by Patson Daka from Red Bull Salzburg who picked up where Erling Haaland left off for them, but we'd need to drop someone else from the 25 to accommodate anyone new. Or we reach into the Championship, but would anyone from there be an improvement?

I don't have the U23 and U18 stats at my fingertips -- is there a young player at the club who could step up like Tammy Abraham has at Chelsea? Carvalho? Tiehi? Stansfield? Etc.?

I'm curious what Parker will do with the 25-player Prem list in January. Dropping Le Marchand and adding Josh Onomah is a no-brainer, and I hope he does that.

Abraham wasn't an unknown quantity. He was a successful scorer in the Championship.

Hey! Don't we have his twin brother on our books?

A few weeks ago, The Undead were talking about letting Giroud go and I thought, "Here's a guy who can score and also light a fire under Mitro." Then he scored about 19 goals in a European match. We'll never get him now.

Somewhere there's an Erik Nevland lurking in the shadows...Fulham needs to find him.

The thought of Tony being in charge, and him thinking he knows what he’s doing makes me cringe. Of course there is no movement, we can’t even manage to offload Seri yet. The typical last 24 hours, where we screw up and not finish the paperwork on a player that would help
seems like the likely conclusion of a crucial window...sigh

@SoCalJoe - I’ve about had my fill of Cav bouncing balls off his wrong foot too. Sounds like Jordan Morris is heading to Swansea. At this point I would be happy with a Jordan Morris rumor linked with playing Lookman up top.

Cav does a hell of a job defensively, though, which is why he starts and Mitro doesn't.

What pisses me off -- almost as much as not beating Chelsea and getting Frank fired -- is that The Scum were about to offload Giroud, and I was hoping that Scotty would grab him. Then he went and kicked ass in Europe and now he's in the squad every match.

Cav does do a lot of things well and I have been riding that train. I’m getting off now though because what he doesn’t do is score from open play in the Premier League and you can’t win if you don’t score. Fulham so badly needs a threat in front of goal that it hurts to think about it. I do hope he proves me wrong but I just can’t see it anymore.

It's annoying that West Brom just got a really decent striker in Diagne, and we weren't even linked with him. Must not have scored high enough on baby Khan's magical stats scale. I hope Tony gets bored with his toy soon, and Dad sells the club to someone who will take it seriously.

Today's the day. It seems awfully quiet though.

This is about it from the Sky Sports Transfer Centre Blog:
    WILL FULHAM DO ANY BUSINESS?

    Sky Sports' Gail Davis:

"Last summer, it was all about strengthening the defence at Fulham but this time it's very much looking at the attack. They have only one recognised striker in Aleksandar Mitrovic but he's struggled for form and fitness which is why they've looked at Josh Maja.

"He was on Fulham's books as a youth player before he moved to Sunderland. He scored 17 goals there in 49 goals before he moved to France. He's struggled for game time in his second season at Bordeaux so this could be done as an international loan.

"Maxime Le Marchand could be on his way out of the club while Middlesbrough are interested in Aboubakar Kamara."

Never seen Josh Maja play. Is he better than Kamara (who's reportedly about to go to France)?

...aaand he's off to the land of fancy mustard. Good luck, Abou. Now, if we could only get rid of Le Marchand and his wages, too.

Yes! Le Marchand is now a Royal Ant twerp! Never want to see him again.

Come on, get Seri out the door, too.

Hope Kebano stays--I may like him more than Parker does--but he probably should leave for his own good.

Josh Maja now sounds like done deal. Welcome back to Fulham, Josh.

In: Josh Maja (loan, with option to buy)

    Out:
    Seri (Bordeaux, loan)
    Le Marchand (Royal Antwerp, loan)
    Johansen (QPR, loan)
    Kebano (Boro, loan)
    Kamara (Dijon, loan)

If Maja can put away more chances than Cavaleiro, then this is a good window. We didn't lose anyone we didn't want to lose, and we moved out a lot of salary money and made room in the 25 for Josh Onomah. My math may be wrong, but it seems that if McDonald stays, our 25 are now all set. If he either leaves, goes into coaching, or is for another reason not included, we will have one spot open on the senior roster. Perhaps one of the U23 will get a promotion.

Let’s hope Maja will be another Lookmanesqe type of signing.
