I will be seeing the Caesars the night before here in Chicago at my favorite venue, Schuba's. Thanks for the info though MrsJux.

I bought the new Oasis cd on Tuesday, the day it came out. Let me be the first to say that this record is complete and utter crap. I have been a big Oasis fan since their debut release of Definitely Maybe, but this newest record is just plain bad. I was not too impressed with their last cd, but it had some decent tunes on their. This new record has no good songs.

Needless to say, I am disappointed in this record. Oasis was once one of my favorite bands, but with their last couple releases, that was gone by the wayside.

I saw the Caesars last night here in Chicago. They were sensational. They were able to perform their songs live just as well as on their cd's. Great energy, great keyboards, guitars and vocals! I was thoroughly impressed with them. If you get a chance to check them out, I would do so.

If you have not heard of them, go to their website:

    http://www.caesarsweb.com

The good news is that I just read this morning they are coming back to Chicago on July 17th! I can't wait!

Being the big Smashng Pumokins fan that I was back in the day, I went out on a limb and bought Billy Corgan's new solo album. While the record has a few decent songs, it is average to below average at best. If you are looking for another Siamese Dream or Mellon Collie, this is not the album to buy.

On a related side note, Billy Corgan took out full page ads in Chicago's two largest newspapers, the Sun-Times and the Chicago Tribune, to tell Chicago his plans of getting the Pumpkins back together.

Now, I am a huge Pumkins fan as I said earlier, but I think this is just a marketing ploy to get people to buy Billy's record. I mean did he have to do this the exact day of his album hitting stores? I do not think so. Anyways, we will see what happens and where this goes.

Given all the issues they had the first time around, I am not getting my hopes up for the second incarnation. At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if he just renames his road band the Smashing Pumpkins.

they're really catchy. I hope their second album is the same, I burnt myself out on this album back in June because it was the only thing that I listened to for about a month. Probably time to bust that thing back out.

I'll do that...as soon as I figure out how to burn a CD. I've got friends who know how to use computers...I'll see what I can do Tom.

I have their last record but have not heard the new one. I was not too crazy about them. Perhaps the new album is better.

From what I've heard on their website and through XM, i like the new stuff over the older stuff so far.

Needless to say Cash I cannot wait! Considering the amount of time it took between the Proximity Effect's original release in 1998 to Let Go in 2002, this wait does not seem so bad.

The three songs you can listen to sound really good...not a lot of change from Let Go...which is fine because I think Let Go is as close to perfect as any album I've heard in a long time.

Blizzard of '77 is a killer track as are a number of others from that disc. Nada Surf is a very underrated band in my book.
