I filed this in the strangest category I could find, because there's STILL not a category for "2009-2010" matches, even though our first competitive match is Thursday, July 30th. I did a match preview on the home page, but I wrote it on Friday. Since then it appears as if we just might get a goal from Zamora, despite my flip comment. A funny thing happened on the way to Hull, I guess. Zammo started on Saturday and scored two goals. Eddie Johnson started Friday night and scored another for him. Who'll start? I'm guessing ---------------------------- Schwarzer --------------------------- Kelly --------- Hangeland ------ Hughes ------- Paintsil Gera -------- Murphy ------ Etuhu --------- Davies ------------- AJ -------------- Kamara --------------------- Dempsey, Eddie, and Andranik will come in as subs. I think we win 2-0. What do y'all think? Oh, and will there be Gentleman Jim?
Of course Don, theres only One Gentleman Jack, Lives here in TN too Hic very nice too! yeah c'mon PF Get your finger out I need a 2009-10 thread too?
Has Kamara played yet this preseason? Looking at the match reports, he played half of the Bournemouth friendly but that's it. I think we'll see the standard lineup, except with Gera continuing to play for Davies (who's still injured, as far as I'm aware). If we get a good result in Vilnius, then Roy will switch some players out in the friendly confines of the Cottage next week, but I don't think he's inclined to monkey around with the lineup too much and outsmart his way out of the Europa League before we've even gotten started.
I'd be happy with that lineup, the right combination of pace and strength. Still, I'm hesitant about the outcome here... I'll say 1-1 (Murphy 34'). Regardless, only two days to Europe! Let's get the proper thread started.
I wish I could even watch it, I'll be stuck at work unfortunately. I really would like to see Fulham give a good effort and Vetra to not go too physical against FFC to avoid injury. Not that I'm saying Vetra would, just a general comment. But they will be pumped, not just because of omsdogg posted, but just because they earned their way to the 3rd qualifying round. They made it this far, they aren't going to lie down at home and just hope a result happens. So I really hope the FFC D is ready to work. That all said, I have faith in the away side to come away winners, 2-1.
I thought I'd move nevzter's link to the match thread: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/preview?id ... PA&cc=5901 Pettyfog: the match is tomorrow. How about a 2009-2010 matches category already!
In part: AJ and Schwarzer are ready to go, Davies is out, Etuhu is doubtful. And even Roy has never been to Lithuania!
