Zusi has to sit due to yellow cards. Jones will be undergoing tests tomorrow to see if he can play, but I think (and hope) he sits since he got his bell rung pretty good. Herc is still likely out with a knee injury that he picked up at the end of the Liga MX season. US Soccer and Hoffenheim decided to let Danny Williams go on vacation since he is still not healthy.

For Panama, it sounds like Blas Perez did not make the trip due to gastrointestinal problems. He has scored 10 goals for them so far in qualification, so that would be a big loss for them.

I am flying up to Seattle tomorrow and can't wait. This will be my third "cap" and first for a Hex match.

    Bring on Panama.

Good stuff, LAX. Seattle is easily one of my favorite cities and the match atmosphere will be awesome - nice little pseudo dive to check out if you have time: Buckley's on Queen Anne.

I'm thinking that Cameron slots in for Jones and, for reasons I've yet to agree with, Castillo will start in Zusi's place. Although, an Eddie J. start shouldn't be out of the question as he is the hometown boy nowadays.

Thanks for posting the -- BY FAR -- best VanHalen song ever. I love CONCACAF competition because it brings me musical connections like this.

I've known of HD's affinity for "Panama" for quite a while now, but if we're going to talk VH, "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love" and "Hot for Teacher" get top billing mentions as well.

Fingers crossed Jozy can go, sucks that his benefactor of the last 2 matches Zusi is out. I think a single goal would probably be a winner.

I'll be passing up the Spurs to watch this tomorrow night. If I get home in time to watch it live, I'll be in the chatroom.

Hope you have a great time at the game Lax and hope we get a report!

A must win home match for the US. Sorry, but much like the Brad Evans experiment, I'm not getting the Edgar Castillo at midfield. I know he has an attacking mentality, but the dude is little and we have actual options. Whatever, I give up, lets just put everyone anywhere and let them play. Hopefully we will qualify. Klinsmann the "genius" will politely be transitioned to the more important role of technical director and Marcelo Bielsa, who is no longer employed by Bilbao, will become head coach. Or Sigi

On a more serious note, that sucks about Zusi. Didn't know he had yellowed out. That deke and cross he made for Jozy's header was sweet, indeed. So was Bradley's move on the corner and feed to Evans for the winner. Hate to lose guys on a roll, for sure. Hopefully the replacements will feed off those good things and provide equal service to our scorers, most of whom are still healthy (knock on wood), especially the hot, hot Altidore. Looks like our patience with him is finally paying off, big time. You just knew it was there and bound to happen. Great timing for it, too.
Don't know much about the Panamanians, We should handle them at home, right?
I expect to see the Texan back on the score sheet in this one. 2-0, Yanks.
    COUSMNT!

On a side note, I may be taking in the match at the newly christened home of the Louisville AO chapter tonight, Saints Bar & Grill, as I am ON VACATION THIS WEEK!

Have a great time Lax in the Emerald City. I'm a little biased, but it is one of the US' great cities. Looking forward to a live match report Lax, the atmosphere should be amazing.

A big concern will be the field. In order to be able to host, Seattle had to put in a temporary grass field over the top the artificial one, but it got torn up a bit since the Sounders already played a match on it.

Had to look it up, but Panama did beat the US in the 2011 Gold Cup in the group stages (2-1) and the US beat them in the rematch in the semi's 1-0. This is not going to be stroll in the park.

No, it will not be an easy game. I've actually got a bad feeling about this one. I haven't looked at the us roster, but with Zusi out and FJ not looking 100%, this has me worrying. We still have a very talented squad that should dismiss Panama, but they always play us tough. The Panamanian coach is very good IMO.

I am wondering with Zusi out if Brad Davis will get the start wide left over Fabian Johnson. I expect Panama to park the bus and he is capable of hitting some terrific crosses and filling the role as the FK specialist.

I imagine Dempsey can take some of the FKs as well. I remember him making some really fine goals in his final season with us. Wouldn't be too surprised to see Dempsey maybe slide out wide and have either Gomez or EJ start up top with Altidore.

I agree Heather, but, unfortunately, Gomez was released due to a nagging knee injury suffered near the end of his club season. It's gonna be a tough night, I'm afraid, given our thinning numbers...unless someone steps up and plays much better than they have been in recent weeks. Opportunity time for some folks tonight, for sure.

But, hey, we're on a roll!

Cameron and Bradley bossed the midfield tonight.

Great crowd. Great game. Good times. I will post some more photos when I get back to LA.
