Fulham Academy striker Marcello Trotta has joined Watford on a one month youth loan deal. The 19-year-old Italian striker will be available for seven first-team matches at Watford.

Trotta scored eight goals in eight games during his loan spell with Wycombe Wanderers earlier this season, before returning to Craven Cottage to make his First Team debut as a second half substitute against Everton at Goodison Park in the FA Cup in late January.

Prior to his loan spell at Wycombe, Trotta was in exceptional form for Fulham’s Development Squad, scoring five goals against Bolton in August before scoring a further four goals against Norwich City at the start of October.

I hope the one month length of the loan means Jol thinks he is almost ready for regular first team action.

I think in order to make this "an emergency loan," it can't be for very long.

This is VERY important to Trotta's development. He was in brilliant goal-scoring form when his last loan expired. I just hope that he hasn't lost the edge whilst sitting around for a month or so.

Mind you, I hate to see anything helping Watford ...

Don, never recall you disliking Watford, any particular reason? I found them to be harmless in their one season up, and I know how much you (and everyone else for that matter) likes the Cheesehead Jay Demerit and what he accomplished there.

Totally agree about Trotta, and hope he gets a run out. At least he won't be alone since promising midfielder Alex Kracanklic (spelling?) was loaned there as well and has been getting plenty of pitch time.

Yeah, I would be interested in hearing about his dislike for Watford as well? Elton John's club? Kinda have little bit of a soft spot for them since my family and I lived in Watford in the early 80s. When I was just a wee little one. :)

Luton Town's prime rival. Even though Luton has been screwed out of the league and resides in the Conference now, Watford still hate Luton more than anyone and vice versa. After all these years, it's habit for me to despise the Dirty Yellows. Mind you, I loved the Cheesehead, and I thought their management the year they were promoted was excellent.
