    Just saw a priest on Fox say he thought it was due to the Pope being the 'true leader'.

    Hogwash! {Besides Cherie being catholic} MORE like because the CoE is nothing but a social agency, aligned with the PC apparatus of the British government bureaucracy. The Archbishop of Canterbury is a 'Jesus Was a Socialist' twit, and I wouldnt be surprised if he's actually an agnostic.

    I'm Anti-Papal -authority, but I'd sure be a Roman Catholic before I'd be an Anglican!
    {Note: there's now a difference being Episcopal and Anglican, so I dont want to hear it}

    It's been said in England for at least a century, that Englishmen who are serious about Christianity become Catholics. It's not for nothing that, in English stage and film writing, the Vicar is usually the comic figure. The Church of England is the perfect example of what happens when there is NO separation of church and state. The religion becomes a quaint little institution that gives everyone a good laugh and eats up too much tax money.

    Well, good on ol' Tony. Now that he has Dick Chaney's hand out of his back, let him find his heavenly peace where he can.

    But of course, youre right about that separation. The cranks should look at that before they criticize the US relationship.

    I was raised Catholic, but I'm now an agnostic. Papal authority doesn't amount to much these days... especially to the average American Catholic. The Church has also modernized and liberalized a lot since Vatican II, and now is open to just about anybody from anywhere with any kind of belief system.
