MLS Playoffs

    Back to our off-topic side conversation...
    - the biggest football stadiums in the country are college stadiums
    - NCAAF gets more TV revenue than the NFL...it's just spread over more teams. Notre Dame has its own TV contract!
    - think about how many NCAAF Div I games are on each Saturday and the attendance at them...it's an order of magnitude more than go to NFL games the following day

    ..and bringing it back....

    IMO, the passion for local teams is present in the USA, and its not in pro baseball, pro basketball, or pro football, but is in the college game. MLS can deal with competition from the pro-sports, but getting fans to skip an NCAA game to see an MLS game, that's the real test. The MLS season is bounded by the NCAA basketball tournament and the NCAAF season for a reason...
