Looks promising. Good strike rate (compared to what we usually get at ST), good touch and shot, finds open space in the box and gets on the end of passes/crosses. Plus if Dempsey goes we're likely going to need a good FK option (I can't take a full year of Riise injuring the paying customers). His age is a little bit of a concern, but hopefully not an issue. Here's hoping we see that little archer move of his...a lot.

Petric the last 3 yrs, all with Hamburg (all comps first, bundesliga only second):
    09-10 27 gs, 1 sb, 10 g / 25 gs, 1 sb, 8 g
    10-11 20 gs, 4 sb, 13 g / 18 gs, 4 sb, 11 g
    11-12 22 gs, 5 sb, 8 g / 21 gs, 5 sb, 7 g

Not a lot of stat padding against Europa & DFB Pokal opponents. Hopefully the Bundesliga translates to the Prem better than, say Eredivisie, and he doesn't need any of that "year to acclimate" crap.

Now pass that dreaded Fulham medical.

Huh. Good dig up. Hopefully we get him and puts Pog to shame. HA!

Could be a good bit of business on a free. Bundesliga is fast paced too, so I'm with AG that hopefully he blends right in.

I might not recognize more than half of the starters this coming season... Ch, ch, ch, changes....

Good news. That's the best striker signing we've made in the last couple of years. Doesn't appear to be as one-dimensional as Pog.

That strike in the Europa League semi-final was absolutely brutal (for us, brilliant for them). Even if he can only replicate that a couple times in the upcoming season, I'll be glad he's on our side.

Played for Jol also, which is a good sign that he pursued him. Good stats for both club and country.

Should we be worried that it's only for a year?

Not really. He'll be 32 when it's up so for one, it's less risky, especially if he's on high wages. But also, even if he has a good year, if he enjoys Fulham he'll be more likely to re-sign than for someone to poach him at that age. He does have a relationship with Jol apparently, so that can only help.

Came back across this tonight. I can see why he wanted to join up.

For what it's worth, one of my favorite Fulham images from the last few years, somehow made even more special now that he plays for us.
