Yeah, I have the same problem. I basically had to drag my father to the Chelsea game, while he was there he remarked how he liked the Chelsea paraphernalia and I had to fill him in on all the players and such. And to top it off, he likes Tottenham Hotspurs. Well, it could be worse I suppose

And the little kids and families can be extremely irritating--whoever introduced the plastic horns should have to attend every Michael Bolton, Celion Dieon, and Kenny G concert for an eternity.

I'm with ya on the plastic horn bit, DCH! I can't see how US soccer fans ever expect the sport to take off in popularity when the crowd makes such depressing noises with their little toys. Hoooooooooonk! I'm so booooooored! When is this match going to eeeeeeeeeeeeeend?

Those horns really sound like someone was flatulating...AKA farting from a distance.

Horns, loads of music, and an announcer (in Columbus) that just won't shut up. I did laugh when they played Bowie's "I'm Afraid of Americans" prior to the Fulham/Crew scrimmage.

My father is now a full fledged Fulham fan...but overall, he really didn't have a choice.

He loves Alan Shearer and after I found a picture of Alan playing in a Fulham jersey, my dad had to support the whites.

That's good Mike, we shall convert all the remaining infidels in short time. I don't think I can convet my father. When my family lived Watford during the eighties, he took a real liking to those damn Hotspurs (I think it was the kits they wore and their play). But I have faith and will keep trying.

So your dad become a Spurs supporter in the eighties??? I'm surprised he didn't support Watford and Elton John!!!

Its funny, I've just read through this thread again and wanted to pose this question to DCHeather...so why did you finally decide to participate on this wonderful site of ours.

I think we may vote you "poster of the month" since you are quite an active participant. A breath of fresh air as compare to the official board at the moment.

Aww shucks  Thanks Mike. It's funny you ask why I decided to participate on this messageboard. I tried to participate on messageboards before, but I don't care for all the inflammatory comments that tend to creep on to messageboards or it's very machismo nature, if you catch my drift. I guess women haven't quite embraced the internet like men have. Anyway, I noticed you and few others created this website after lurking on the offal board for god knows how long. And after months of lurking I said what the hell, nobody in the outside world I know is really into soccer like I am, so I might as well join a messageboard and share my thoughts with others that might actually care. And this was the most friendly one out there--plus, I support Fulham.

How much are tickets? (Too bad this didn't happen a few weeks earlier--this would have been a great fundraiser for Brian's sponsorship)! :)
