again we start of with 64 teams, so thats 16 groups of 4!
each team playing 6 games in there group. with the top two going through to a knock out stage (32 teams). only one match in each round of the the knock out stage (instead of 2 legs). hopfully i worked it out, so that the final should take place on the final weekend of the season. i got all the fixtures worked out so now its just a matter of waiting for this competition( fantasy cup) to finish. then i will use that weekends fulhamusa fantasy league rankings for the seedings for the group stages.
also i would like names instead of numbers/letters for the groups, (ie group Steed, group Green Pole) that sort of thing, all ideas are welcome and the best 16 names will be used

    RE: GROUP STAGES

Von Billy, this is awesome! I would have to think between the regular competition, the FulhamUSA Cup and the FUSA Champions League that this is the coolest fnatasy league of any sport I have ever been in. Thanks again for putting this together!

    Re: GROUP STAGES

Putting together a Champions League is alot of work. But keeping stats and posting updates through the forum (like in the Cup) would be difficult, if not confusing, with a group stage competition. So, all the group standings, fixtures, and results for VonBilly's FUSA Fantasy Champions League can be found at www.majafa.com/fcl (fcl = fantasy champions league). The League kicks off Week 28.

    RE: Re: GROUP STAGES

VonBilly--thanks for doing all of this. I loved the cup competition despite being paired with the number 1 seed in Round 2 :) and I know the Champions League will be lots of fun. I have fantasy teams in four sports, sn I find myself looking at this one first during these type of competitions.

The first round of games had some upsets. It looks as if some of the top seeds have gone down, down, down in the first round...along with myself, but I wasn't a top seed. :(

Cheers Tom, but most of the credit has to go to Rumstove, i come up with the idea, Mark did most of the work.
talking of Stover FC (Rumstove's team), my son's team Doctor of Football (seeded 64!!) beat Stover FC (seeded 1)
which surely has to be the biggest shock of round 1

Thanks VB and Tom. But VonBilly does the hard stuff and is the brains behind the league: coming up with the whole idea, figuring out the draw, naming the groups, confirming results etc. I simply type in numbers and click the 'update' button.

Anyways, week 2 results will be added once premierleague adds the Actim Index bonus points. So far there are a few blowouts and alot of close matchups that may be decided by Actim Index. And then there are the E-MO Yankees v MELBOURNE and Cookies Monsters v McLean matches, both of which are currently draws.

two defeats for the Leg'ends conceding 110pts in two games, a bit like Fulham.

Watch out for Irving Park United, 'Willie's whacking them in!', putting 81 past Al Fayed's Troopers.

Stover FC got back to winning ways sweeping aside Dusty Old Dust 75-35

3rd seeds Cottager, carried on there good form beating IrishPete's Southend Wanderers 68-58

The Long Islanders finally got a win, like everyone else beating Fulham FC!, The Islanders take on Boston Utd next, which must be some sort of local derby!

as for the French Connection, there poor form continued, being rolled over by Bubba FC 76-66 :3d crying:
I take little or no satisfaction in seeing the Connection playing as bad as the Leg'ends

week 3 (Gameweek 30) is now updated. Halfway through the group stage there are 9 undefeated teams and 9 teams still searching for a their first win.

So far Irving Park Utd. is looking to be the strongest side. Not only is the club undefeated, but has also put up 188 points!

week 4 (Gameweek 31) results are now updated.

After losing by 1 point in both of the first two games McLean FC finally got a well deserved win. The four clubs in Group Al Fayed will have a fight on their hands if they want to make it past the group stage as they're all 2-0-2!
