Normally cup ties intrigue me, but for some reason I could really care less about this. Maybe I'm still depressed from the recent run of form, and how the Carling Cup match arguably started the current tailspin.

Anyways, Hodgson should put out a strong side so they get used to playing his style. According to physioroom Bullard, Keller, Cook, and Hughes are all doubtful so we'll see who is fit to play or not. And John is still on loan.

It's at an odd time, and probably wont be on tv so I may or may not see you all in the chatroom.

I will be in Florida so I will mis this one. It'd be nice to win a game big for a chance, even if it is a lower division team.

This match worries me because Fulham have absolutely nothing to gain. We should win against a 3rd division side like Bristol but as you said timmyg if we dont...the tailspin in the premiership likely will continue.

I can see where you're coming from as a fan, but "nothing to gain" is the wrong attitude for the team to have. This is an opportunity for the guys to get back in the win column, impress the new boss, and show the fans that they care.

I look at this with great anticipation. This provides Hodgson with a "practice or exhibition match" if you will before he is thrown back into the prem. Fulham has more talent than Bristol and should not be in any great danger of losing. Hodgson can try several tactics in this match and see what he has to work with in an actual match situation.

Best case scenario... Fulham throws out their best XI and see what they have to offer. Hoping for a scoreline of 3 or 4 to nil.

Well, I should be able to do the first half in the chatroom, but I'm doing a thing at church and will probably leave the house around 10.

I'd like to see Batista, Matty Briggs, Ashton, Leijer, etc. feature. And we SHOULD beat Rovers. Freaking LUTON held them at their patch with ten men.

    I'm liking's Kev's scoreline.

I would like to see it used as a time to get some confidence into the first team and get them playing. I dislike rovers after some nasty crowd scenes during a playoff semi at Twerton park so I would like to see them humiliated, but I think we will win 2-1.

I hope we can pull a clean sheet for once. It would be nice to come out and pummel them, but i'm going to settle for 2-0.

I would like to see a win, could set us up, or at least pick up moral with in the squad.

The match preview has been put up on the BBC. Fulham are from:

Niemi, Volz, Stefanovic, Bocanegra, Konchesky, Davies, Murphy, Davis, Dempsey, Healy, Kuqi, Warner, Kamara, Leijer, Bouazza, Omozusi, Smertin, Seol, Christanval.

Don's hopes look mostly dashed, only Leijer in the squad.

But isn't just like Fulham to lose to a squad they "should" beat. I know I need to be more optimistic, but...ugh. Any word on this match being on TV or an internet stream?

If he is fit he needs to get a run out against Bristol.

    How about something like this:

    Niemi

    Volz-PC-Leijer-PK

    Seol-Davis-Smertin-Bouazza

    Healy-Kamara

    Bench:
    Warner
    Boca
    Omozusi
    Davies
    Dempsey

I think that this is great opportunity for Hodgson to get a look at the squad. He'll use this to get a better understanding of what he has for the second half of the season and what are his positions of need. We'll experiment and still beat Bristol and move on to the next round.

Well, here's a couple of stunners:

    1. Hodgson is fielding his first choice linup with NO youngsters
    2. the match is at 8 instead of 9 so I can actually get it all in before church!!!
    3. "FulhamTV's" Matchlive console only features league 1 and league 2 matches! There's no FA Cup coverage this morning! :x

So, no GJ for the boy. :(

I'll check out the chatroom to see what's what.

Playing all starters, at home, and a 2-2 draw? That's not very good.

no its not. but blackburn did it yesterday and lost 4-1. same with everton, who were shut out. and brum.

as i wrote on my column, the early stages of the fa cup are just a glorified exhibition match(es). it only makes you more depressed if fulham doesnt shell lower opposition. and sometimes that opposition is 110% up for it, and fulham is only about 75%.

lets forget this silliness and focus on elijah wood's team.
