Fulham V. Middlesbrough

    Wow. Two very, very good chances, plus a few others, that went begging in the first half. Pretty resolute defending in the second half, but our shooting was less than stellar. Still, a good result on the road against a quality opponent. Just a little better finishing (how many times have we said that?) and we get 3 points. If we can keep defending like this more often than not, I like our chances of moving up.

    agree ... as always, it's down to NOT conceding easily. At this point we have a positive goal difference ... something we haven't had at any point for a few seasons, and if the defense continues to be stingy ... .

    Yes, we had opportunities we could have converted, but overall I think our issue has been giving up too many goals. Only two teams, QPR and Birmingham, have scored more goals than Fulham. Fulham has more goals than 7 of the 12 teams above us. As I mentioned before, not conceding some of those late goals puts in a totally different position. Scoring more would be nice, but I think we're generally scoring enough. A stronger defense will help us progress up the table and I think we are getting there.
