    Statue official viewing at foundry

...today Kevin Shea from the 'Johnny Haynes Statue Action Group' went to see the statue at the foundry, he 'phoned me to say:-

...'widows peak', hands on hips, right foot on a lace-up football, the number 10 on his shirt, he is looking at you. Today Tosh Chamberlain walked into the foundry to see the finished article, as he walked into the room he said "That's'' Johnny"

    Good enough for me...

I was lucky enough to be at the foundry as well when Tosh walked in and his reaction said it all. Even when I walked in it was a shock to see something so artistic and so realistic with the 'old' Fulham badge on it. This is a true representation of Johnny...

just having a browse over at Friends of Fulham [GREAT SITE], and LBNo11 reckons that the cost of the Maestro's statue is 5,000 quid less than THREE DAYS OF FAT FRANK'S SALARY.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'd rather have Haynes in bronze than Fat Frank in Black and White!

The best statue to a footballer...

...Check out this link from the old Fulham photographer, a great site

    http://www.ken.coton.btinternet.co.uk/

Also highly recommended is this link from the natural successor to Ken, Jon Hall his 'handle' is ormondroyd. Check these out, especially the montage of photos of fans taking photos on their mobiles - it is the modern day version on the Warhol 'Monroe' picture:-

    Maestro Photos

you can always count on Ormondroyd -- thanks, Jon.

The statue is marvelous. The Maestro could, even in the high-speed English game, take the time to put his foot on the ball and decide what must be next. Man, I HAVE to get over the water again.

Agreed, the statute is marvelous. He looks like he's ready to play and kick some butt.
