One of our two Greek tragedies from the previous relegation era squad(s). As likely to get sent off as make a big play. The other, of course, was Kostas Mitroglou, who has 1 goal in three appearances for Galatasaray this season. The 30 year old is on loan from Marseille.

jk's much appreciated recap of the status of what will be our league next August reminded me that Mah Boy Cauley's Barnsley are certain to lose their automatic promotion second place. Despite scoring again yesterday -- his 14th this season, I believe, -- Barnsley lost. Sunderland is still third, but they have two matches in hand and have complete ownership of the Big Mo.

It is good to see the lad finally getting regular starts and sscoring when that happens.

I wish Hyndman the best. I never fully understood why he left Fulham when he did.

I thought he had a good chance of a career in Europe, but he was buried in Bournemouth.

Although he was only at Fulham on loan, I'm going to include Calum Chambers as a Fulham Alumnus. He had a huge impact for Arsenal on Sunday as he scored the late tying goal when the Gunners were playing with 10 men vs. Aston Villa. Chambers also played the role of the gate on Aubameyang's game-winning free kick a few minutes later.

I noticed this morning that Jesse Joronen has been the starting goalkeeper for Brescia in Serie A.

Dan Burn had an excellent 86 minutes for Brighton against Everton today. He may be the tallest left back in the history of English football, and I was pleasently surprised to see how solid he was with balls on the deck.

He capped off his performance by helping to create what turned out to be the winning goal. Nice performance for the lad -- especially since probably 99% of Fulham supporters thought he would never do better than a solid League 1 or Championship player.

Saw Matt Targett playing for Villa at the Etihad yesterday. Hadn't read that they'd picked him up. Must've made an impression at Wembley, and elsewhere (Southampton apparently). Good for him. Watched the extended highlights and thought Villa was hard done by the 3-nil score. They put in an admirable effort and very easily could have gotten an unexpected result.

My son is a Villa fan and he keeps reminding me that we let Matt Targett get away. Although things didn't go they way they wanted against Citeh, Targett did get the injury time winner the prior week vs Brighton and Hove.

Saw that one of the unused Norwich City subs was Patrick Roberts -- one of our many "can't miss stars of the future." He has actually featured in three matches this season. Norwich is one of several clubs that Man City has loaned him to. I actually saw a lot of him with Celtic when the SPL was televised, and he did quite well.

I think its handling of young talent like Roberts that led Jaden Sancho to turn down a lucrative contract with Citeh and go to Germany instead -- a very good decision.

I saw that as well Don. Thanks for doing the legwork on his career since Fulham. He doesn't look like a kid anymore, that's for sure.

We'll run into our old buddy Scott Malone Tuesday night at the Cottage.

Saw the United v. United match yesterday and really enjoyed Oliver Norwood's work.

Oh, and if you haven't watch Sheffield United this season, you really should -- especially if they're at home.

I watched it too, and I agree about Sheffield United. Being an old codger myself, their manager looks like a kindred spirit. Two promotions in 3 seasons as manager looks good on the resume.
