Orozco isn't the quickest dude - I might consider taking a flyer and put Johnson at RB and bring in, umm, Castillo to LB. ugghhhhhh

Oh, you know that I'd prefer Lichaj in there on Thursday.

anybody else wondering if Colombia tanked their match against the Ticos to avoid Argentina in the semis?

Not at all. The Columbian coach thought he could coast against a team that had been eliminated and demoralized and probably figured The Ticos would start some youngsters. He made 10 changes to the starting lineup before knowing the result of the Paraguay-US game. Plus after the match it was assumed Columbia screwed the pooch and played their way to a Brazil matchup.

Well, with no Jones, Bedoya, or Wood for Tuesday, I guess we're just going to be happy with a final four.

I still don't think Jones fouled anyone, never mind garnered a straight red.

Jones was attempting to be peace keeper, but forgot he isn't in Europe anymore. He went to put his hand on the guys' cheek and the Ecuador player thought he was going to strike.

Still carrying yellows from group stage is BS.

Thank Gawd it didn't go to extra time, we looked totally spent.

John Brooks has arguably been the best player of the entire tournament, and I mean the entire tournament.

Hats off to the guys for the blood and guts effort..again. Biggest silver lining is 2 days extra rest for Argentina.

Copa America is weird. There is no extra time in the quarterfinals or semifinals. It goes straight to PKs.

But then the final has extra time.

Yep, these are some goofy ass rules, no question. But as the old cliche goes, they're the same for everybody. Still happy about the level of play and the result, even though this current run of form probably means we're stuck with JK through Russia. Still trying to figure out how Jermaine got a red card. I thought it would have been Brooks for rushing in and shoving one of their players. I was ready to abandon any hopes of seeing Clint in '18 after the Colombia fiasco. Silly me. The Argies are hungry for a trophy, no doubt. I think we'll keep it respectable, but let's not write off Venezuela just yet. Besides, they might incite some yellows or reds too. And maybe they'll nick Leo and a couple of other key players up a bit. Still, whatever happens, a good performance by our lads for this tournament.

Was at a bar where the American Outlaws gather and couldn't hear the announcers, but that would've been shocking to go straight to PKs. Saw that Donovan was doing the color, opinions on how he did?

The yellow card rule is ludicrous - who the hell are the US going to play next week against, for all intents and purpose, Argentina

Three group stage games. Three knockout games. It should be an even split. Maybe it's set up so nobody can miss the final due to accumulation of yellows.

There were so many good performances by the US but three things stood out for me:

    1. The supporters were phenomenal.

    2. Bobby Wood's runs really open up things for other US attackers.

    3. John Brooks has had a special tournament.

Admired the fact that at no time during the match did he say anything like, "Klinsmann is an ignorant cocksucker."

I said it for him ... several times.

Thank Gawd I only had poured my coffee and wasn't drinking it while read that, too funny!!

What does the Copa mean? James the Columbian superstar was literally crying with joy after they survived PKs w/Peru.

Should be a great one tonight between Mexico and Chile.
